So... Let's say I made 3 different websites, all running IPS software. Now each was for a specific niche, however I would use IPS Connect to sync logins (and somewhat prominently advertise the other websites on each). Is there any way I could sync content between websites as well? Just as an example- Let's say one was dedicated to sports and one to cooking. Beyond the forums specific to that website, I would have a 'global category' that synced across each website. Like... An example: - Sports Forum Category: -- Football -- Baseball -- etc - Off Topic Category: -- Politics -- Entertainment -- etc So I'd want the sports forum category to only …

Dear All I have two licensed copies of the software. One is in cloud and one is a standalone version, which, although licensed, I haven't used for some time. On Friday, I reset the URL for the standalone version, downloaded and unpacked the beta version of the software, uploaded it and ran the install. The server checks are successful, but when I click continue to go to the next step (license check) I get an error:- This page isn’t working www.atfotf-forum.co.uk is currently unable to handle this request. its been a while since i setup a copy of my live site (duplicate db) & duplicate existing data to my alternate beta site - trying to remember what settings need to be modified to point the urls in the copy to the beta site so that playing around with this won't touch the live site?

I followed all the steps to upgrade. So am dumbfounded by this one. Not sure if this is an IPB quirk or a permissions issue somewhere. A user recently messaged me asking why they could not get notifications for a topic they follow in a password protected forum. When I go into it, in the quick reply button you do have the "notify me of replies" enabled.... yet, nowhere in the topic post or forum category/topic listings does it actually have the "follow content" button anywhere.

I have created a relationship between two of my DBs. That part is interesting and working very well after I have explored some options. I am however experiencing one issue that I hope someone can help with. When I display the DB record in a Regional DB I am using this relationship link to display a list of books from a library DB. In some regions I will have multiple library items. Currently the "MULTIPLE" book are just displaying as a run-on comma delimited block, i.e. book1, book2, book i have a very long name and this makes the display very confusing, book9, novel4, novel2. Hello Everyone, I am using Google AdSense. In the Admin CP, I have selected the options to show Ads at: 1) Just above the page footer. 2) After the first topic in each forum. 3) After the first post in each forum. But, on my site (www.sepakistan.com), the ads show up at the top, bottom , in the side bar and don't show up at 2) and 3). Any ideas how can I fix this? Thanks.

I'm hoping to go live with my site tomorrow and I've just noticed a pretty big problem: people won't be able to log in. The root of my site is a Pages page, just like IPS has here. It has a customWrapper rather than the default template because, like with IPS's front page, I want to have coloured sections spanning side to side. My customWrapper is identical to the globalTemplate, except that I have removed the div ipsLayout_mainArea. That's the container within which everything else on the page sits. Just updated to 4.1.19.3 yesterday. One of my users was having issues posting in a forum so I thought it would help. Didn't. In fact, I'm getting a 403 error (others are seeing the same issue, others are not): Forbidden You don't have permission to access /forums/index.php on this server. Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Ideas?

I have the following scenario: Hosting two v4.1.19.4 boards on the same VM (I additionally control the host): Board 1: 2,119,338 posts, 22,029 members, but average online members would only be 50-100. I'm hoping someone can help me. I can't log in to my AdminCP to approve new members etc without being on my MacBook Pro. Normally this isn't a problem but my concern is that if something happened to my device then I'm in trouble when it comes to accessing the forum. Also, when travelling I always have to take this with me when all I really want to take is my iPad. I've tried logging in from my phone and also my wife's computer and still no luck. I just keep getting the log in screen whenever I input my username and password correctly. Is there a way I can fix this?

Unsure how to specifically word this, but is there a specific permission somewhere that I need to toggle to make it so my moderators cannot modify the widgets in the sidebar? I cannot find anything relating to it in the Admin CP, but my moderators can view the little arrow on the left to add new blocks and modify existing ones, and I would like to prevent this. Edit: Solved. Of course right after I post this I find the setting, looked right over it. For anyone else: Admin CP --> Members --> Staff --> Moderators --> Edit --> "Can Manage Sidebar Blocks"

I think some of my users are experiencing issues with cookies after IPB 4.x upgrade as some of them reported that their login is not getting saved and keeps getting logged out. Is there a way to reset the cookie using the forum link. I remember that a link was there in an older version of IPB which is used to reset or clear the user's cookie. Is there something similar now or is the only way to clear all cookies through the browser settings?

Hi, I have many videos hosted on Wistia ready to be included in my private forum, and would like to embed them for my members. I've tried copying/pasting all the embed codes provided by Wistia, the direct link, etc. but nothing seems to work. I found this topic but the file to be downloaded is no longer there.
