I didn't say it would hurt, and it won't hurt. But, if there are only so many hours in the day for you, as someone running a site, I'd imagine you'd prefer to be doing something which moves the dial for your users, traffic and so on. And in my opinion, that doesn't involve messing about with css and the like to shave a few ms here and there and get better test scores.

All sounds great, except you do miss a couple of pretty important points.
    1. If a site passes the core web vitals test, that's the limit of potential ranking improvements as far as Google is concerned. So, if you really do have a faster site in terms of your scores than other Invision sites, since a stock build on reasonable hosting will also pass those tests, you've no advantage.
    2. A higher score on one of those speed tests may only equate to <100ms of real world difference to a user. Which they won't notice.
So, on that basis, is it worth the time, effort and/or cost, or would spending that on things that do make a real difference be better? It's up to you to decide if course, but I know what I'd rather do.
And in the meantime, Invision can continue to modernise the platform and tidy up the js and CSS as they've said they will.

I’ve added it to my backlog.
It’s too late to add it to the December release, so it’s going to be earliest available in the January release.

You can truncate the session table if you want so all users will be log out autmatically and they must log in again.
New registrations will be detected on their second log in. This app scans and stores the data from the log in form.
I am using the $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] to get users ip addresses, which contains the real IP address of the connecting party. That is the most reliable value you can find.
That being said, if someone logs in through a proxy server, the proxy may have set the $_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR'].
I will look into making some changes in that regard.
Thank you for your feeback 😊

This isn't proving too useful to us as it currently works, unfortunately.
As it only sets the cookie when the user logs in, it's setting very few as most users just stay logged in for a long period. It also doesn't pick up new registrations as they log in either.
Also, although it's not as useful as the cookie detection method, the ip method isn't using the x-forwarded ip if that is used on the forum, so gives most users the same IP on our community.

You're right. I thought they were used in combination with eachother, but looking at the docs, it is the equivalent of telling it to cache everything.

In Invision Community's November Release Live Webinar, we discuss a few key features included in the next platform update.

@Charles gave us a review of some new moderation actions and more additions to our Events App.
We also covered the switch to PHP8 that is effective with this release.

Also, thank you David for your question! We are excited to bring the functionality for "paid events" to the Events App. This is in the early planning stages but we are happy to tease such a wonderful addition since it is "in the works". 🎉

Do you have a question about the November 2022 release? Feel free to ask in this topic.
Did you miss the webinar? No worries. We uploaded the video session for you to watch:

It's simpler than that I think? Bots view as guests and there's an option in the ACP to either show or hide signatures to guests.
Member settings > profiles > profile settings > show signatures to guests

Honestly can't get my head around this Pagespeed score obsession, test many of the top sites on the internet and you will find many on par or below a standard IPS forum in this point scoring contest.
Been reading your posts on here for a number of years and I think it's almost a personal challenge for you now rather than something that would benefit your site.
Use your eyes, they will tell you if your site is loading slowly or not, I'm over 10 years deep into my forum with Adsense on and I haven't had one member complain that my forum is slow on mobile, not one based in the UK on a UK server with members using from the US, Russia and Asia. Not one complaint.
I haven't been punished by Google in anyway, still number 1 for search terms related to my site all whilst using custom.css which keeps all my changes in tact on every single upgrade.
My site isn't unique, take MacRumors for example, Pagespeed 31 for mobile yet still the number one Apple related forum. Go figure.
I wish you luck in your hunt for that magical 100, however the changes IPS have made will benefit all customers going forward.
