Carole Asselin reacted to teraßyte in Referring to a past post without quoting?
Not by default, no. A possible option is to:
Adding the username in the editor. Click the 3 dots menu top-right of each post. Click the Share menu item. Copy/paste the link in the editor from the popup that appears and/or manually add the post ID from the share link itself. So yeah, not exactly the most user-friendly option.
The only other solution would be a custom modification.

The share option mentioned above is the only other way of really doing that.

You would likely need to build a custom SSO which associates with this and assigns the secondary groups based on the tags then if you wanted to have this be done automatically. Otherwise, yes, you would need to do this manually because you are coordinating this outside the software.

It would count everything that is currently in your database.

Carole Asselin reacted to Jim M in Following threads/sections and email notifications
You can set default notifications in ACP -> Members -> Notifications if you want this for all users. Just be sure to click the "Reset All Members to Default Preferences"

Carole Asselin reacted to Jim M in Following threads/sections and email notifications
You can follow a forum to receive notifications when topics are posted. However, the follow system is explicit so you will need to follow each topic to receive notifications.
There is one exception to that, you can configure your notifications so that if you reply to a topic, you automatically follow it. As seen here in my notification settings:

Carole Asselin reacted to Randy Calvert in Formating posts
If it’s limited to you, admins, and trusted users it’s fine. Don’t enable it for guests or regular members.
They could embed files such as malware or do other dangerous things. Basically it is a powerful tool that could be abused if someone wanted to. Treat it accordingly.

You would not want to provide this to individuals unless you absolutely trust them (i.e. Admins and Moderators). Not only could malicious items be included, such as JavaScript or iframes from other websites, but individuals could inadvertently mess up HTML DOM which renders a page illegible or hiding certain objects.

Carole Asselin reacted to Marc Stridgen in Linking back to the gallery
Im not entirely sure what you mean there. If you add a link to a gallery image, it will automatically embed and is linked. So they should actually only add the link to the image, as it will aut embed

Carole Asselin reacted to Marc Stridgen in Notification of a message, but where is the message?
It is indeed a message from the contact form. So you are looking at the message (its sent via email)

Carole Asselin got a reaction from Randy Calvert in Migration tool ?
Thank you. That is what I was looking for 🙂

Carole Asselin reacted to Marc Stridgen in Linking to specific posts instead of quoting
There would be no way to reply to a specific post without doing one of the above to state what you are replying to

Carole Asselin got a reaction from Jim M in Rating system in the gallery not responding
By the way, is it possible to edit the thread title from "Ratting" to "Rating" so it might help anyone searching for it?
-
Carole Asselin reacted to Jim M in Rating system in the gallery not responding
Please ensure you have provided the permission for a group to be able to rate images. This can be in ACP -> Members -> Groups -> edit group -> content tab -> Can give star ratings for content?
Once I gave that permission, our test user was able to leave ratings on Gallery images where the Gallery category allowed it. Please also note that a user can disable ratings on their album so if a user has done that, it will not be available.

Carole Asselin reacted to Jim M in You do not have permission to launch the Easy Mode editor
Unfortunately, as you are using an SSO, you would need to work that out with the author of it.

Carole Asselin reacted to Marc Stridgen in You do not have permission to launch the Easy Mode editor
It wouldnt matter what they are in wordpress. They would need to be administrators with all access on the invision platform. If you dont have those permissions, you would not be able to give yourself them (otherwise granting permissions would be of little use). If you have all permissions on one and not the other, then you can go to System>Staff>Administrators and correct the appropriate account/group there.
If this has only been happening since logging in with SSO however, its likely you are simply being logged in with the wrong user. An admin on wordpress will not automatically have access on invision, unless its mapped to an account on invision with those rights

OK, given that info, please also check with the author of your SSO to make sure that group assignments and permissions are correct.

Carole Asselin reacted to Marc Stridgen in URL for forum and gallery
What you would actually have is gallery showing at root (just your URL) and forum showing at /forum/. Or the other way around. Depending on which is set as your default application. Does that make sense?
-
Carole Asselin reacted to Mark H in "Members" group is missing from the dropdown
Many do have separate topics, though not all. Look on its download page to see what/where that should be done for that item.

Carole Asselin reacted to Jim M in Where to limit the file size for images?
ACP -> Members -> Groups -> edit whichever group you need -> Content tab. Then look under the "Uploads" headline.

It’s a member group settings.
