Unless he makes a copy of the emoticons directory first, removes the emoticons from ACP and uploads the copy of the emoticons directory.
Wait... so I was going to do this but in the end, I deleted the two sets of classic emojis from my ACP and that took care of it: the emoticons directory stays in place, the old posts continue showing the old classic emoticons, but the shortcuts now create the new modern emojis.

Awesome, thanks guys for providing different options for achieving what I want (and even more with that plug-in). 😄

In the interest of fairness, there actually may be a way...simply changing the short code of the old emoticon to something else would mean that your example will be an emoji going forward. But then you still have the custom emoticon in the listing, available or use.
Oh great, thanks a lot for that answer, that helps. 😄

Why would I remove the emoji button? I mean, I don't mind that the old "converted" smilies are still offered (all the way down at the very bottom of the emoji button pop-up menu), the only thing that matters is that if someone types a colon and a parenthesis it gets converted into a new modern emoji and not the old classic smilie. I believe your solution of changing the short code of the old smilie achieves that though, so thanks again. 😄

One of my mods reported a spam comment. I commented on the report and marked it as complete, yet my mod says he wasn't notified about those two actions. Is there a way for him to be notified about it?

Ok thanks Nathan, that's too bad. I'll have a look at your plug-in.

Deleting them will result in the images no longer being there, and therefore older posts will not display them - no conversion will take place.
Thank you for your reply.
So instead of smilies we'll just see the actual text (colon and parenthesis)?
Is there no way to keep the old smilies and from now on have (colon and parenthesis) turn into a new modern emoji?
-
Right now if someone types the : ) shortcut (no space), it is automatically replaced by an old school smilie because that is set as a custom emoji converted from my old phpBB board. I would rather it be replaced with a modern emoji though.
In my custom emoji pane I have all the converted emojis, what happens to the old posts that use them if I remove those? I want the old posts to either stay old school smilies or turn into modern emojis, is that what will happen, should I just delete both these sets?

just activate our picks without setting up any of the other share services.
Great, thanks, so I've done that... now... how do I "pick" a post? I read the manual 3 times and couldn't find the answer. I must be missing something obvious.
NEVERMIND! I just saw the +Promote button. Duh.
Thanks!!

I would love to have a "Our Picks" page, but without sharing anything to social media.
Is that possible?

I have moved this to feature requests for you
Great, thank you. I wish I had more skill to start customizing the embedItem template but right now I wouldn't know what to do with it. Thanks anyway for pointing me in the right direction @opentype, I appreciate it.

I love that you can automatically embed internal links in the forum, however I find that when linking to a comment within a topic, the resulting card is way too complex to navigate.
For example when I embed the following internal link which is a comment inside a topic:
https://www.logicprohelp.com/forums/topic/129868-beat-mapping/#comment-739162
That looks like this:
What I get is this:
Which contains no less than 8 (!) different click zones, some of them linking to the same places, and others linking to seemingly random replies in the topic (actual comment I linked to, or first answer in the thread, last answer in the thread, profile of the comment I linked to, profile of the original user...??)
If I find it confusing, I'm sure 99.9% of my users can't make ANY sense of it at all - nor do I believe any of these numerous links are helpful. Instead, I'd like to get only one link, the one I posted (the actual comment I'm linking to), with only one title, so that it looks like when I embed a link to a topic:
If it is possible, then I would love to know how to do it, and if it isn't, then please move this to the features suggestions? Thanks!

When you deleted the user, if you have left the default option for what to do with that users content, it would delete it
I understand now: that entire topic had been started by that same poster I deleted, only it looked legit so I had approved it a couple of months ago, and today he replied with a spammy comment.
All is well. I got scared for a second. 😰
Thank you Marc!

Now I realize I made a typo and wish I could edit my post.

You should be able to now
Yes, it works now. Thanks!.

This is normally routine procedure: I get an email of a new post requiring approval:
Reese7713 has posted a post in a topic requiring approval, Midi Chase
I click the link and see the post. I realize it's a spam comment so I click the red "Delete" button which normally deletes only the post. I then go to my acp, search for the user and delete the user. Now the entire topic is gone!
I went to my moderator log to check and sure enough all I did was delete the post, not the entire topic:
This literally just happened (10:22am). Here's the moderator log (the top line is the spammer, the two following lines are me).

Thanks, please try now.
I was able to click "Going". I still cannot post replies to the comments section though. Thanks!

Ok I just entered my admin CP password again in my client area. Thanks for your patience.

the access details on file appear to be incorrect or missing.
I checked and my details are on file. I filled them only a short while ago so that Invision could help with another issue, and I don't think anything changed? Which specific password isn't working for you, the FTP one or the cPanel?
Thank you!

you could disable them globally for guests in your ACP on the Members => Profile Settings page, so that guests (and google) don't see them.
That's a great workaround, thank you!!

Ok thank you, I'll turn it into a feature suggestion then.
When a member reports content, can they be notified about answers and report status?
