You'll need to "Clear system caches" in the ACP to see the effect.
Ok actually: I tried that, and the script still doesn't show. Is it supposed to go in the "footer" document?

My ad network asked me to add a script to the footer of my site. I went to the theme and added the script to the bottom of the "footer" document and saved it but I don't see it appear in my code in Chrome's dev tools.
Is there some other place where I should add that script?

You won't if you are already opted-in to receive newsletters.
Ok makes sense. Thanks!!

Thanks!
So it gives me "this block is now showing" and I don't see anything. I suppose I must have to set up something else first in my ACP? I found the Bulk Mail page and on my "Newsletter" page, Email is set to "Opt Out". Is that why that widget is not being displayed? Or because I'm already signed up to my own newsletter?

I was browsing the user guide and saw that clubs have a newsletter sign-up widget... is there one for the entire community? (I am not using clubs)

But, a way to generate a certificate of some sorts could be cool.
That's a great idea! I love it. People love certification, it gives them some validation, and I can imagine more people would be willing to enroll in a training if it led to some kind of certification.

I love the new search bar however I find myself constantly searching for something and getting zero results only to find out that I was searching the current topic when I wanted to search the entire site.
What happens constantly: I'm reading a question about XYZ. I want to search the forum for XYZ to see if there are existing topics on that subject to help that member, and I get results only from the current topic. I know I should click and choose "Everywhere" each time, but I always forget, and it takes a bit of time to change it.
I wish there was a way to make it default to "Everywhere".

I would love a way to integrate Live Topic events in a course.
For example so that someone enrolled in a course knows they'll have a weekly Q&A live event with the teacher.

Based on the traffic you were describing, unless you had a very specialized niche that had valuable ad keywords, ads lately are not enough to live off of alone most likely.
My traffic is nowhere near what MeMaBlue described and I make a living out of ads alone.
You need to choose the right ad network. If you're using adsense then you're leaving money on the table.

Is your traffic mostly from Greece? The ad networks I'm familiar with favor U.S. traffic mostly.

I would suggest the user try a different device such as a mobile device and also try from a different location such as a hotspot or Starbucks etc. Hopefully it will help them narrow further where their specific issue is at.
Thank you Randy. He can post as expected from his phone. It's just on his laptop that the issue occurs.

I asked him and am awaiting his answer.. but is it possible that if he used a VPN when he posted that topic, and now he tries to reply to the topic while no longer using a VPN, the software doesn't recognize him and won't let him reply? Just wondering if that could be the issue.
-
The user says he has a VPN but is not currently using it.
I tried signing in as him and I can post a topic and replies. He can reply to the topic I posted as himself. But he can't reply to a topic he posted earlier.
Weird!
-
No plugins and he tried two browsers: Chrome and Brave. Everyone uses the same theme on my site, which is only slightly customized - and no one else reported this issue.
-
A long time member reports issues replying to topics, along with logging issues:
QuoteI am experiencing a few problems when using the forum on my laptop.
Once I post a thread, any subsequent replies I try to add don't get added. I click "submit reply" but nothing happens. The text I was writing disappears but the reply doesn't get added.
I can't edit edit my posts on my laptop.
If I am logged in and viewing a thread, as soon as I try to go to any other part of the website (like to another thread or to your profile to send you a message), I get logged out.
I have tried both Chrome and Brave browsers.
Any idea what this could be?

There is a public discussion that was started by Invision there:

There is no functionality which will allow you to achieve this at present, unfortunately. However if this is purely on a basis that you dont want them to show up, you could create a group for those users which has "can use signatures" switched off, and then move them to that group if they haven't signed in, using a promotion.
Sounds like a decent workaround. Thanks Marc! 🙂

Hello,
I would like to delete the signatures of all the members who have not returned to my community for the past 2 years or more. Is that possible to do?

Where to add a script to add it to my footer?

OH! That's where it goes. I was in my theme's HTML/CSS editor and adding the code to the "footer" document... ok great, let's try that now.
