Miss_B reacted to Jim M in I tried to allow guests to post and this is what happened...
Guest posting is, unfortunately, always going to have a spam counterpart to it to a degree as you will have human and bot spammers. You could ensure that hCaptcha is enabled to it's hardest degree in your settings. However, that still might not be enough and will let in human spammers or sophisticated bots.
As @Miss_B stated, using something like Post Before Register would be advised if you want to add in additional validation steps for posters/users but want to have them start creating their post before registering (an illusion of guest posting).

You will need a custom app for that.

Miss_B reacted to Jordan Miller in Hump Day: saying farewell to Invision Community OG, Rikki
Happy Hump Day, team! Sort of. 😔
One of Invision Community's founding fathers, @Rikki, is amicably moving on from Invision Community to pursue another exciting opportunity. This is his last week with us. He has a few parting words to share with you:
Rikki has been an instrumental player in Invision Community's success; we're bummed to see him go, but at the same time excited for him to spread his wings.
Please leave some well wishes for Rikki in the comments!

Miss_B reacted to LiveG in Advanced Fake Members Online System
Sound like a great app.
The only reason i wouldn't bye it is the lack of compatibility with "Who was online within 24 hours."
Good luck

Miss_B got a reaction from Unlucky in Advanced Fake Members Online System
When you add a fake member online, you can also add the number of minutes that you want that particular member to be online. A task will run every half hour to remove the expired fake sessions from the online list.

Miss_B reacted to Stuart Silvester in Upgrade failed - SQL error?
The problem is that you're using a forward slash as a table prefix and as such it's part of the table name.
I would recommend renaming the tables to remove the / and then edit conf_global.php and change
'sql_tbl_prefix' => '/', to
'sql_tbl_prefix' => '', Then go back to <url>/admin/upgrade to finish the upgrade.

Miss_B reacted to Jim M in my forum problem
/admin/upgrade is the location of the upgrader. You will want to add your base URL for your installation before that. Of course if you have a custom admin directory you will need to replace admin with that.

Miss_B got a reaction from Mark H in How to Reset Website
It would be better to make a complete backup of it first, especially the database. For just in case.

Thank you, this has been fixed for an upcoming release.

Miss_B reacted to teraßyte in Who Read This Thread / Track Member Topic Reading Behavior
The file is not marked as compatible with 4.7 in the marketplace (only 4.5 & 4.6) so it won't show up in Admin CPs running 4.7.

Miss_B reacted to Robert Angle in Who Read This Thread / Track Member Topic Reading Behavior
I just wanted to say that the current version still works fine with 4.7

Miss_B got a reaction from VaBeach_Guy in How to re-create/import a thread from a different (now defunct) Invision Board
If you use my app. it includes the start time/date of the topics only. Posts are not supported.

Miss_B got a reaction from VaBeach_Guy in How to re-create/import a thread from a different (now defunct) Invision Board
In that case the only option is to post the topics manually.
If you want to change the topic starters and start date, I have developed an app for that. You can see it here:
@Adriano Faria has another similiar app that changes the posts date. You can see it here:

Miss_B got a reaction from SeNioR- in Database Error
This seems to be server/host related. What is the wait_timeout value set to?
You can read more about this here:

Miss_B got a reaction from angle4cor in How to make topic names and board sections bolded?
There is no such option built in Ipb a.f.a.i.k. You will need to edit the css or use a third party plugin, if such one exists.

Miss_B reacted to Stuart Silvester in I need hlpe with upgrading, my upgrading stucks
Hello,
This is an issue with a third party application you are using. I have completed your upgrade for you, but you should report this issue to the author of that application (axenserverlist).

Miss_B reacted to Mark H in Restoring MySQL database when moving hosting - Does it fail for anyone else?
Importing a database which is larger than roughly 20 MB really should be done with the "mysql" command-line (SSH) utility. Using phpMyAdmin to import any database can be problematic.
If you have shell (ssh) access to your site, we'd recommend using that instead

Miss_B reacted to Matt in 4.7.0 Beta available now
Honestly, I'm not entirely comfortable with the idea of third parties directly executing SQL queries on customer databases. If it all goes wrong, we have to dig out back-ups to fix it. This is not a slight on anyone's abilities, I've deleted an entire table of customer tickets with a mistyped query. It happens.
We are not going to create a system where third parties have access to the client databases. There is no audit trail for what actions were taken. When our team need to access a cloud site, we complete a reason form which is stored to form part of an audit trail so we know exactly what was accessed and why. We also have to access via a fixed IP address VPN so there is a data trail.
We take our cloud customer's security and data very seriously.
The SQL toolbox should have been removed a decade ago in all honesty. As we move forward with our cloud platform, more and more SQL tables will be stored centrally and not exposed to the client in any case, meaning admins won't have access to all the data the community uses which could case a lot of confusion.
(Edited later to add:)
In terms of what to do with debugging, I do sympathise. I generally made prodigious use of the simple \IPS\Log::log( json_encode( $data ), 'argh_send_help' ); logger. I have also in the past used \IPS\Db::i()->select(...); in combination with \IPS\Log::log() to inspect a single row of data.

Miss_B got a reaction from Martin A. in What 's wrong with this query?
No problem at all.
I figured it out myself. The HAVING part should be added to the $table->selects. Many many thanks for your help on this @Martin A.. Using the tables is indeed much easier than adding all the entries to the array as I did. The only drawback is that the search is not working with this method.
Anyways, this can be considered solved. Thank you also to everyone else who replied.
