  1. Hi there,

I did update my test site to 4.7.2 but it seems i have a problem with the scanner .php :

.fpm/php5.external" stderr: PHP message: PHP Fatal error:  Maximum execution time of 300 seconds exceeded in /forums/system/Application/Scanner.php on line 1260, referer https://dev.plongeur.com/forums/

It actually prevents me from login in either the front or the admincp.

I tried setting the time limit to 1h but it does the same.

I tried dowloading the files and reuploding them manually but it does not solve the issues.

I am thinking about starting back with a copy of my prod and trying to upgrade again but i am affraid it may end the same way.

I managed to login yesterday once and today once but only after a lot of tries et really without knowing what made it possible.... both times the php8 compatibility was stucked loading :

    Could contain: Page, Text

I really don't know what to do here. of course i won't upgrade my prod site...

  2. it looks to me this some sort of manual anti spam where you ask the subscribing members to answer a simple question but a bot wouldn't be able to do it. This is most probably inherited from the past, did your forum used to be on another platform than IPS ?

In IPS this is doable in spam prevention settings, in the "question and answer challenge", it is better because you can have several questions and the users is shown one of them randomly, so the answer cannot be scripted too easily. I use "write 22 in letters" for example.

  3. On an admin level, spam through the conact-us is the worst problem i have. I basically do not read any contact-us message anymore and wait for people really wanting to contact me to find the email address.

For my community i would join others :

    - people tend to be more and more assertive and less open to contradiction, this basically kills the interest of a forum

    - It is hard to find a balance between the core group of regular users and newcomers or occasionnal users that may hesitate to parcipate because they don't belong to the "core".

We are fortunate to work with some of the worlds biggest brands, such as LEGO, Squarespace, SEGA, Mattel, etc. Working closely with the community managers from these brands allows us to really understand the tools needed to manage and moderate at scale.

Given you have a privileged relationship with their CM, there is indeed no use to announce here features that are specific to them. I don't deny that we are all lucky that they are using IPS and probably bring a lot of ideas benefiting to every community. Just in these cases public annoucement are probably useless.

The costs associated with transcoding video into a streamable format isn't something we can bring to the other plans.

This is totally understable and i have no issue with it. But you can't just present it as a new feature without at least mentionnign clearly that it won't be available to most.

although I'm self-hosted so I will wait to get excited.

Seriously, what is the point of announcign this feature on this public community when it will be only available to " corporate and enterprise" cloud plan ? How many clients does IPS have on this plan ? what %age of this community members does this represent ?

Announcing features only available to a few % of your clients can only frustrate the vast majority.

  6. Question: does the sentiment analysis support languages other than english ?

As regard to the technical consideration, as I already said you could clearly present API on your servers acting as "proxy" between self hosted sites and AWS services.

You could sell it as paid options to self hosted clients and maximize revenues from theses clients.

This way self hosted client wouldn't need advanced technical skills.

  7. Hi there,

I have new users complaining they never received the registration validation e-mail. I did some tests myself and clearly the email is never sent. Also "frogot password" e-mails are not sent either.

If i send a test e-mail to the same e-mail i used for my test registration, i receive it.

In the log of my smtp provider i don't see the registration email but i see the test emails, so it definitely never sent by invision.

I have "AWS Simple Email Service with Bounce Management" by @Jon Erickson installed but i disabled it and the behaviour is the same (this why i use smtp provider now).

    I need help !

Just to be clear, some e-mails are going out OK, i received the complaints from the contact form...

  8. Yes this was totally on the sendinblue side and they agreed to it.

Basically they made some change to be able to track mail openers and clicks and this screwed IPS links. They proposed to reverse the change but were insisting that the links were screwed because IPS did not accept the _se parameter they added.

Rather than fighting with them in order to explain that the real problem was that they screwed the &, i chose to cancel my subcription with them and move to AWS, and i saved quite a few bucks doing so 🙂

For instance, when i go on the "registrations" list. IPs are sorted by "most used" so the list basically never change. It would be nice to add a "last used" column with the date the IP was last used, this way we could have a view of recently detected duplicate.

    image.thumb.png.a858b04fb828226cc0dbbb2eb21ef90c.png

Same could be said with the other listings of the app.

At the moment, i just don't use at all the app listings as i used them at first and now they are always the same.

The app stays very usefull as i check new members IPs and Devices and i can see easily if they are already used by other membres.

Hi @Miss_B, did you have to check if this would be feasable ? the current sorting options are just useless as i can't simply identify if new members are duplicate of existing account or not. There definetely should be a "last used" column on all listings.
