Runar got a reaction from Joachim Sandstrom in IPS Products are awesome, but your support BLOWS.
Thank you for asking! These are the ones I've found the last weeks:
https://invisioncommunity.com/developers/docs/general/autoloading-classes-r6/
General issue: Something is wrong with the text styling on this page.
https://invisioncommunity.com/developers/docs/general/caching-r8/
General issue: The section "The caching layer" references several old and no longer supported caching methods, such as ACP and Xcache.
https://invisioncommunity.com/developers/docs/development/plugins/complete-example-of-a-plugin-in-ips-community-suite-r50/
The section "Step 5: Making Database Changes" makes several references to altering the core_members table. There is a warning at the top of the section, but the examples and text further down need to be updated.
https://invisioncommunity.com/developers/docs/development/applications/versions-and-upgrading-your-application-r51/
References adding a column to the core_groups table.

References adding a column to the core_groups table. -
Runar got a reaction from SeNioR- in default language
This help guide explains how you can change the default language from English:
In short: Navigate to Customization -> Languages in the AdminCP, and click the Edit icon next to the language you want to set. In the popup window that appear, check the Default Language option, and save the form.
Edit: You'll have to install the Romanian language pack first. Please read this guide for help with installation.

Runar got a reaction from LiveG in Disable copy&paste
Disabling copy and paste is not supported out of the box, and I strongly advice you against doing it by other means. It’s very hostile against your members, and easy to work around. In most cases, all they have to do is disable JavaScript and they can copy and paste as much as they want.
If someone wants to copy or paste, they will find a way, no matter how hard you’ve made it for them.
But since you asked, there are some solutions here, but note that they may break other functionality in your community.
Why do you want to disable it? If you tell us why, maybe we can find other solutions.

Runar got a reaction from sousou in Unable to find themes or other in my forum market
Are you sure that your community and the theme you're looking for are compatible? It may be that the theme is outdated/not updated for the version you're running, or vice versa. Make sure you're on the latest version of Invision Community, and all available themes will appear in the Marketplace.

Runar reacted to Marc Stridgen in Gift card voucher code
It has actually been this way for a very long time. Of course there will always be items overlooked that people would like to see added. Thats why the suggestion section is there. You do however have the steering, tires and headlights. What you dont have is a list of those items, as the handbook seems to have been overlooked. 😉

Runar got a reaction from Marc Stridgen in Icone / badge color too light
As @Marc Stridgen explained above, there are areas where opacity is indeed used. In this case, the opacity is used on the forum icons to indicate that there are no unread topics in that forum. If there are unread topics, the icon will appear darker. Take a look at how it looks on this community:
This is really easy to change, and requires only one small change to your theme. Edit your theme and add the following snippet to the file custom.css:
.ipsItemStatus.ipsItemStatus_read { opacity: 1; } Note that this will make it hard to see if there are unread topics in a forum or not, so you should consider not making the icons for read and unread forums the same.

Runar reacted to PatrickRQ in IPS Products are awesome, but your support BLOWS.
There were periods that IPS support was great but I think they got simply overwhelmed with number of support requests and increasing stupidity of human race.
I renewed my license after few years and suddenly found out there is no more ticket support. I sometimes find IPS support kind of "hard understanding" simple things or asking too many complex questions on simple issue report.
They work on a basis on self constructed pattern, probably as a result of past experience. Possibly it works great, however for simple matters it complicates things. Sometimes it is like writing "100 pages of documentation of a submit button".
From my experience working with customers in my company, I must say customer from before 10 years and customer now are two different sort of person. I may only say that nowadays customer is very demanding but worst in that is fact they act as a senior but have 0 ability of doing things themselves.

Runar got a reaction from SeNioR- in Unanswered Content in "My Activity Streams"
I agree, I would love to see a stream with content without replies.
In the meantime, I did a quick search in the forums and found a topic with a third-party solution:

Runar reacted to Jimi Wikman in Convert any image to webp
This is a difficult one to make since it require server resources for it to work.
Doing it for one client might be doable, but unless you want to spend a lot of time in support, I would think twice about making it a plugin for the marketplace due to the many configurations hosting services offer.
Maybe there already are services for this though that can be set up in a plugin that just connect that service with the images to transform? Something like: https://www.convertapi.com/jpg-to-webp ?
That could be doable perhaps?

Runar got a reaction from NED in Where can I see all methods of IPB?
If you're on a self-hosted license, you can browse the different source files to see all the available methods. For instance, the Topic class (from your $topic) and methods would be located in applications/forums/sources/Topic/Topic.php. Note that most classes extend other classes, so you might have to look in multiple classes to find all available methods.
I haven't found this information online.

Yes.
IDE's can support this too ( https://github.com/codingjungle/toolbox )

Once you enable IN_DEV, you can also use the hook editor to see all available properties and methods 🙂

Likewise it doesn’t mean Cloudflare is not supported. It only informs us that some people have encountered issues, and that we should disable Cloudflare if we have issues as well, as a part of the debugging process.

Runar reacted to Martin A. in Bug: Elastic 7.16 and activity stream with followed members
Updated a forum to 4.6.9 yesterday, and at the same time updated Elastic to the highest supported version - 7.16.3.
Woke up to lots of these errors in the log caused by a stream periodically fetched as RSS.
[error] => Array ( [root_cause] => Array ( [0] => Array ( [type] => x_content_parse_exception [reason] => [1:8714] [bool] failed to parse field [should] ) ) [type] => x_content_parse_exception [reason] => [1:8714] [bool] failed to parse field [filter] [caused_by] => Array ( [type] => x_content_parse_exception [reason] => [1:8714] [bool] failed to parse field [should] [caused_by] => Array ( [type] => illegal_state_exception [reason] => expected value but got [START_ARRAY] ) ) ) The issue in the JSON appears to be here:
{ "bool": { "should": [ { "bool": { "filter": [ { "terms": { "index_class": [ "IPS\\forums\\Topic\\Post" ] } }, { "terms": { "index_item_id": [ 657215, .......... 785214 ] } } ] } }, [<--- HERE, this is 1:8714 { "terms": { "index_author": [ 61654, 151262, 204067, 204990, 272358, 503699, 554475 ] } } ] ] } }, The latter "terms" should not have been in brackets.
This is caused by too many array()'s added to the condition in Elastic\Query.php
/* Are we including content posted by followed members? */ if ( $includeMembers and $followed = iterator_to_array( \IPS\Db::i()->select( 'follow_rel_id', 'core_follow', array( 'follow_app=? AND follow_area=? AND follow_member_id=?', 'core', 'member', $this->member->member_id ), 'follow_rel_id asc' ) ) ) { $conditions[] = array( array( 'terms' => array( 'index_author' => $followed ) ) ); } I've removed one of those arrays and that seems to have solved the issue.
