Is it possible this "Notification of Question Asked" feature could be implemented in an upcoming update? This definitely feels like it should have been a part of the app from launch. Thank you @Adriano Faria for all your hard work. 👍

No worries, like I said I found a work around for the issue.... I just create it as a paid raffle, assign it to a quiz and then convert the raffle to a giveaway and the quiz function still works.  It would just be easier to not have to go through the extra conversion process.
But I do think you missed something in my earlier point.... You are correct it would not make any sense if they could just click the "participate" button in the raffle section - which is why I "lock" the giveaway / raffle tied to the quiz as I mentioned before.  With the giveaway raffle locked, they cannot just go to the raffle page and click "participate".  It won't let them.
In the locked raffle description, I tell them they must play the quiz (with a link) and they must score a 100% to be entered in the raffle.  Easy.
And, yes... playing the quiz tied to locked raffle still gives them a ticket and everything works just fine.  It even shows them on the main raffle page as being entered into the raffle if they get the 100% score on the quiz.  That might not be how you envisioned the "locked" raffles to work, but it does and I am very thankful for that.
So, It's just how I am using the two apps together and my way of forcing members to take a quiz (in hopes that they learn something) and if they get 100%  they are entered into the raffle and I don't have to worry about "selling" tickets and they can't just click "participate" without getting 100% on the quiz.

Okay, no content feeds. Got it.
I still don’t get it. You mean like static text describing the sections? You are being very vague. “necessary information”, “what he really needs” could mean anything.
And what is stopping you from doing these things right now with Pages?
Again, you can set a custom homepage and you can put what you want on it. If that is lacking somehow, you would need to tell IPS what you need on top of the current features.
P.S. Some more styling options for blocks are coming soon: https://invisioncommunity.com/news/product-updates/45-page-builder-widgets-r1196/

100%. I have some really epic merchandise I want to offer. I had a great experience with Printful when using it with Shopify. I want to launch my merch again but dont want to deal with the printing and fulfillment.
What do IPB customers do in this scenario typically? Surely someone has an automated gateway set up somehow, right?

It does for moderators with the "Can edit members' profiles?" moderator permission but it's a moderation feature, so it's only visible on the other members profiles.
None member will see this while editing his own profile 🙂

If someones leave a question on a advert, shouldn't the seller receive a notification that someone left a question for them? I checked the Notification Settings, and I do not see the option to turn on for this. There definitely should be a setting for, 'An advert has received a question'.

If I am missing something please let me know. I just found out today that someone left a question on one of my adverts back on April 15. If this not a feature/setting, could you PLEASE consider adding this, as not answering a question in a timely manner could mean the difference between sale or no sale.

    Thank you so much!!

    This what I do:
For major dot upgrades (e.g. 4.4.x=>4.5.0) I will back up the database and file structure first (as mentioned above). I would usually wait until 4.5.1 is out (to resolve any initial release niggles).
For minor upgrades (dot dot), I will just hit the upgrade button when it's out.
Having run forums for more than 20 years, I now run vanilla installations. It's a life-saver.

I'm a power user and I'm crazy (ask anyone)! I do nothing to prepare other than back up before I press the big and pretty "Upgrade" button. Then I spend the next 4 hours fixing my theme.
    It's a wonderful life!
I rarely run into critical issues that keep my site down when I do any update and I tend to run betas ( @bfarber has found bugs in my database from 2 or three major point versions ago lol). I would say while I love all of my third party apps none are integral to keeping my site running consistently so disabling them while I wait for updates isn't a super big deal to me.

Awesome idea! I had the Auto Welcome application creating a new topic each time someone registered, but the section was kind of a dead zone so I disabled that feature. I was using @Mike John's Auto Welcome app.

I was actually going to post about this same thing a while ago, this is similar to FB replies. I only want to use this sort of idea on one section of the forum, the 'Introduction' section (which I don't currently have, it's just a thread in a section)

But let's say someone joins the forum, a thread is auto generated to go into the 'Introduction' section, which will have their name first, so it can be sorted alphabetically if needed, but defaults sort by join date, so the title would be something like, 'breatheheavy - Welcome to IPB'. Then there could be custom auto generated content just saying 'Welcome breatheheavy to IPB. If you'd like, please share a little bit about yourself  ....." Then the person has the opportunity to leave a reply in that thread. But let's say others on the forum start leaving replies before he gets a chance to, those replies ONLY show under the 'breatheheavy' thread, and are even closed when looking at this section. So you basically only see a bunch of blocks/threads with each persons name. There would be a 'Read replies' link to click to expand all replies for the 'breatheheavy' thread.

So now after 10 people leave a comment welcoming breatheheavy to the forum, breatheheavy finally leaves a comment sharing some details about himself. His post would be automatically placed directly underneath the first initial 'Welcome' thread with his name. Maybe slightly highlighted like the Q&A section where the most voted answer gets placed at the top and highlighted.

So again, I would love to see replies implemented this way but for this custom section of the forum.

This is a great idea, love it. I do hope to see this added at some point.

    Hey team,
    I had several ideas...
1.) What would it look like if the entire quick reply form was moved from the bottom to directly underneath the Topic starter's post.
2.) Additionally, a quick reply form would appear when quoting to someone's comment.
    3.) Truncating replies.
I think it's pretty interesting how on Reddit, you can follow a chain of replies. Whereas in IPB, it's a long list of thread. I imagine for someone casually browsing they'd be overwhelmed with the amount of replies to sort through. I would love to explore options on how to display comments so that things are simplified.

I'm not super fond of the idea of having to scroll all the way to the bottom of a topic to reply.

I wonder if it would make things easier for users to reply.
Making things easier/more efficient = more engagement!
Have any ideas to make replying easier? Any thoughts on how to lay comments out so there is more content in-view per scroll? I'm interested to hear what the community thinks.

    Interesting!
Not 100% sure how I feel about floating anything 😂 How can we make that even more simple?
If there was a plugin to make conversations threaded, I would throw my money at it. That to me seems very interesting and would increase engagement! I'm not loving linear threads where it's pages and pages of replies when they could be simplified to be one or two pages. 🙂
Thanks for replying to my topic. @Rikki

Nice suggestions. I don't think the concept of replying directly to a post works so neatly on forums (well, Invision Community in particular) because our conversations aren't threaded. Instead you quote one or more posts - but your reply is still part of a linear conversation.
That said, you're definitely right that having to go to the bottom of the page is a bit old fashioned and cumbersome. I think it could be made easier - for example, one idea would be to have a floating reply button or even reply box, available on a topic page at all times, so you can start working on your reply wherever you happen to be in the topic.

Anything that can be done to personalize the Profile page would be an added bonus to the what is already an incredible system with what IPB offers.

We do go to forums to discuss topics, but once I've read a comment I like, especially from a new member, I do want to know more about them. This is where I could get ...
if once I visited their profile page, I could get a better understanding of who they are, what they like, their passions, interests, and more. But most importantly presented to me in style, their style. Each profile page could be unique, as unique as each individual on a forum is.

    A Couple Suggestions.

Integrate the BLOG application in a limited state for the Forum. The new default tab on a profile page instead of being Activity, could be Blog. Members would be able to create content-rich blogs to any length, that would be displayed in condensed, truncated blocks, so they are all the same size, and could include pagination in case they have a lot. Once you click on one of these blog entries, it either opens in a new page, or opens in full right there on their profile page.

Just as we as admins can Manage Blocks on the forum, pages, etc, make it so members can Manage Blocks designated for them. NO HTML ones of course. Have "Profile Builder Widgets" similar to these:
These could be custom widget blocks made only for Profile pages. This way they set up their profile page and display things they like, how they want, in whichever colors they'd like, etc.

Maybe place a Video Block on the left, they can add a title to it, color the title, change font, size, etc. Have a Image block, where they can place a single image with a header maybe, have the image show in full size with lightbox, if they want, they get some control settings too. Give them the option to link to their Album in the Gallery. Have a slider showing thumbnails of their other photos, when they click one it shows in the main box, in a bigger size.

Have a text widget block so they can give it a title and say anything they'd like.

My Favorite TV Show at the Moment

    Book I Last Read

Movie I'm Looking Forward To Seeing

Instead of us creating custom Profile fields, let me them basically show/display what they would like to express.

A Recent Posts widget, or basically let them highlight posts, instead of Our Picks, give them a My Picks block. They can either highlight some posts they've created or posts from others they have participated in and want others to know about.
    --------------------------------

@TheJackal84 definitely understands how to give a profile page some unique customization, he is offering some GREAT plugins:

    Profile Backgrounds
    Profile Songs
    Profile Video

    --------------------------------

I can go on and on, but basically an integrated Blog style feature for Profile pages with modular blocks they can arrange and manage and completely customize to their liking. It's funny because instead of calling it their Profile page, they could call it *MySpace, which is exactly what it would be. Their own personal space to set up as they wish.

*That name does sound familiar. 😉

I would like to suggest add ability to hide "Entry posted by x" (red), because the nature of the "A group blog by x" is show the entry as posted by the group that already named (orange), that is I want too, show the entry as posted by the group and not by some member.
Anyone can tell me how can I hide remove the entry author?

The other area where I want to remove the entry author from the Our Pick widget.
