I've been around the block having run forums since 1997. After researching many forums, I found the best. Invision Community not only makes things easy, they keep disrupting themselves to stay light years ahead of the competition. You really can't go wrong.

Just came across this and was wanting to see if there was any talk on the here:  https://topicit.net/en/plugins
Haven't used it, and know nothing about it - but it sure would be handy to have an app for forum members to use.  My forum lost almost all discussion to the sister FB page.
Would be interested to hear if anyone else knows anything about Topic'It.

    HI GUYS :)
@Morgin @BomAle   Here My 2 cents for Apple IOS and PWA :
It  Disappointing ios is not supporting push notifications yet  . I think in future apple will revise push notification policy again when PWA become mainstream.  Bigger companies adopting the PWA apps day by day.

PWA is not just another Buzz word,  PWA again transferring the power back to Web Developers which was lost during native mobile app era. I think REST API based apps for IPB not right approach, From developers point of views, it will make mobile apps  hard to maintain and compatible with every new version of IPB and updates of hundered of IPB plugins. However PWA just uses Mobile Responsive of Website.
Forums Founders  spent both Time and money to make his/her community sustainable. sometime new users like the forums but forget url and browser history deleted,at that time website looses one member ? this same things happened with me many times and may be other members share the same experience.
For iOS users or Android users there is more chances, new users of clients Forum website click on App icons  (Installed by PWA ) again than open browser inside the mobile, remember the website URL and hit the enter. No matter whether  PWA support push notifications for particular mobile os or not :)
Moreover for just one mobile OS. it is not good idea not to implement for other too. PWA fully supported in Window 10 redstone 4. We can't ignore the billions machine running  window 10. Window 10 PWA app would be huge opportunity  to keep the website users engage with website. Just imagine clients Forums apps are installed on users PC.  Even They don't open browser and enter forum URL,  with single push notification you can make users again engage to your website ? More and more adopting the window 10

This is must-have feature for IPS itself, not 3rd party addon, IMO. Especially considering that IPS apps are already almost ready to work as PWA, only some final preparations should be done.

I read this whole thread but I don’t see any indication that IPS or 3rd party have decided to start working on this despite overwhelming demand. Hopefully that changes soon.

    Adjust mobile design:
Then create the progressive web app (PWA) with common requirements:

My community is begging for an app, and I already lost ~60% of member traffic to Facebook and WhatsApp. Why? Not because my content isn't good enough anymore, but my members use my contents, and afterwards, go on with live messaging/meetings (which is an elemental part in my industry) via Facebook and WhatsApp and I lose control. I can do nothing against it. My competitors don't have contents, but they have active Facebook and WhatsApp groups. The FB/WA messaging functions are way better, and my users require an app icon to remember my site as well as push notifications to their mobiles. Not having an app is blocking my success factors extremely. I'm already considering buying an app development for my WordPress pages (which seems to be cheaper as many developers already did it for the WP platform...), but that would be the point to lose the power an IPS app would have. I'd prefer an IPS app, but I don't have ages to wait for one. We need to speed up any arrangement.
I'd be willing to pay, too!!!

Hi Guys IPB is awesome and far better than any other forum software available in market. IPB team working very hard to implement new feature every month i appreciate their     hard work
But now in smartphone world everyone is using mobile devices that have apps to access their favorite content. people don't like first open browser, then type url and then type username, password. Mobile friendly websites are no longer a solution. Forums are facing competition from Telegram groups, discord server, Facebook Groups, Whatsapp Group
    @Charles PLEASE HELP US !!!!!
I know it is very difficult to maintain native app. so Now companies use hybrid approach to cut cost for mobile app.
It would be great if IPB team develop the in house Progressive Web app for IPB. IPB theme already mobile friendly so every little to do  Just need to implement
    1. Service- worker for Offline uses
    2. Push Notification for Notifications
    3. Login and signup screen (that remember the user name and password)
Here some Key Benefits Of PWA over Native App

IPB4 team already have brilliant javascript developers. I think it would not too difficult for them to do this.
I would like to Pay for this feature separately  if it will be developed. It would be Milestone for IPB 4 as compared to other forums software.
Others IPB members if you are agree please vote this feature as much you can and share your's feed back too and don't Forget to Participate in Above Poll Question

Thank you @PacmanDo for submitting a ticket on this today. As it turns out the reason this was failing is the PHP EXIF module was not installed. This module is what we use to read the data in images which indicates the orientation. Without that module IPS Community Suite cannot tell how an image should be shown so it simply uploads it as a default layout.
To see if you have the PHP EXIF module installed, go to AdminCP -> Support -> PHP Info (small link under PHP Version on right column). Then search for "exif" in your browser and you should see it referenced as "EXIF Support enabled" on the page.
If you do not have that installed please ask your web host to install it.
If you do have PHP EXIF enabled and are still having issues with images not rotating, please submit a ticket as we can assist.
We will update IPS Community Suite to detect if this module and others we recommend but do not require are missing and give you information on what that means and what to do.
Thanks again for submitting that ticket, @PacmanDo, I am happy we were able to look into it for you.

Thought you might want to see an email from Mandrill I just received:

    Hello,

We're writing to let you know about some significant changes that will affect your Mandrill account.

Going forward, all Mandrill users will be required to have a paid monthly MailChimp account and verify ownership of all sending domains. Here's the timeline: Starting 3/16, all new Mandrill users will create accounts through MailChimp, and current Mandrill users can merge their existing Mandrill account with a monthly MailChimp account. Current users will have until 4/27 to merge their accounts.

    Why we're making this change

The MailChimp team built Mandrill in 2012 as a transactional email tool. Mandrill has always been under the MailChimp umbrella, but it has functioned as a completely separate product. Mandrill is now becoming an optional add-on to paid MailChimp accounts. This is a strategic change we're making to close the gap between the two products and focus on the MailChimp marketing platform. MailChimp is designed for marketing, and Mandrill is designed for transactional messages. Each is powerful on its own, and offering Mandrill as an add-on makes MailChimp even more powerful for our small business and e-commerce customers. Our CEO and cofounder Ben Chestnut wrote more about the changes on the MailChimp blog.

    What you need to know

The application's functionality and look and feel are not changing at this time. Here are the important changes that will affect your account:

Starting today, Mandrill will adopt MailChimp's Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy. These terms reinforce that Mandrill should be used for transactional email, and bulk email/email marketing campaigns should be sent through MailChimp. In addition, MailChimp's Privacy Policy, which has always covered Mandrill, has been updated. If you have any questions about our policy changes, please email legal@mailchimp.com.
To continue using Mandrill, all users will be required to have a paid monthly MailChimp account by 4/27.
All Mandrill users will be required to verify their sending domains and add SPF and DKIM records by 4/27. This is already in effect for new Mandrill users.
Starting 3/16, all new Mandrill accounts will be created and accessed through MailChimp.
Starting 3/16, the Mandrill mobile application will no longer be available for installation. It will remain functional for existing users until 4/27.
Our billing and pricing model is also changing. MailChimp will generate one consolidated bill that covers your MailChimp and Mandrill charges. Mandrill credits will be sold in blocks of 25,000 emails. Blocks will start at $20 per month. This goes into effect once your accounts are merged.
Any existing discounts, free credits, and free accounts will no longer be valid once your accounts are merged.
    What you need to do

If you already have a paid monthly MailChimp account, you’ll be able to merge your accounts starting on 3/16. We’ll send detailed instructions at that time.
If you don't have a paid monthly MailChimp account and decide to create one, you can go to mailchimp.com and do so at any time. You'll be able to merge your accounts starting on 3/16. We'll send detailed instructions at that time.
If you haven't already done so, you'll need to add SPF and DKIM records and verify ownership of your sending domains. Here's an article explaining how to do that. Starting 4/27, Mandrill will not send any email from unverified domains or domains without valid SPF and DKIM records, including public domains like gmail.com and yahoo.com.
If you don't have a paid monthly MailChimp account merged with your Mandrill account by 4/27, then your Mandrill account will be disabled.

If you have questions or need technical support, please log in to your Mandrill account and click Support in your dashboard. We've made support available to all users on free and paid accounts.

We know this is disruptive, and we understand that it may affect your decision to use Mandrill. Please know that we carefully considered these changes. The new structure will allow us to create more flexible products and better serve our customers. Thanks for using Mandrill, and we hope to welcome you to MailChimp soon.

    - The Mandrill team

It looks like your cost will be at least $100/mo if you have under 100,000 members. $20/mo per block of 25,000 mandrill emails and at least $20 per month for mailchimp depending on if they only consider you having less than 1500 subscribers. That would be $20/mo for mailchimp if the assumption is correct and $80/mo for the mandrill sends. if you have 100,001 to 125,000 members you email it would cost $20 more per month. etc per block of 25,000.
Mandrill is no longer the best option for transactional email. Fact is, in my opinion it's a costly option now.

@stoo2000 ...here is something else you may want to look at from a discussion about what mandrill is doing. A lot of unhappy folks out there.
Fortunately when I've start to use Mandrill, I didn't build directly all my email service on top of it. Specially for webhooks that are very usefull. I've made a bundle to use them indifferently from various service. It's available here https://github.com/ScullWM/MailHookBundle and it supports Campainmonitor, Mailjet, Mandrill (sic), Mailgun and Sendgrid.
As long as you get a paid Maichimp account and don't mind the increased pricing for mandrill...I assume yes.

From what I can see, the biggest change is for the users that don't pay anything for the service.

P.S. To clarify the Mandrill Reputation, a bad reputation doesn't mean that your emails won't get delivered. A poor reputation will mean that you can only send so many emails per hours. The more emails that are sent that are successfully will improve the reputation, with improved reputation the more mails you will be able to send per hour.
If you send more emails than allowed for the hour, they'll get queued and send later.
