Daniel F reacted to Marc Stridgen in physical product deprecation question
We will be removing items related to physical items only, such as the ability to interact with delivery services, sizes of items etc. Addresses, while I understand it may seem are related, are actually required by many payment processors. So they would indeed stay.
It is also worth noting that even without those, you could actually capture any information you wish via the use of custom fields too 🙂

This is not a bug, the constant 'REDIS_ENABLED' is for the setting "Use Redis to reduce MySQL overhead" I don't enable this setting so it's set to false.
I still don't understand why my site is much slower that usual.

I have quite a few clients that use this app. I might be interested in taking it over, but I need more details about v5 first. Until I take a look at its code, I'm not sure.

Daniel F reacted to Mediamage in Schedule Post option?
Yes, I'd like to schedule new topics under different forums for future dates, to automate when I'm traveling.
I tried doing it with the unhide option on a future date (and yes it unhides on the future date) but instead of adding the future date to the new topic it adds the date I originally scheduled it on so makes the new topic look old.
Example in screenshot: On October 4th I scheduled a post to go live on October 10th. This is what it will look like and should say October 10th not 4th.

Oh wait, now I see a Publish box at the bottom, maybe this is what you are talking about I should be using? That will publish topic on the date I want correct? And no one will see it until that date?
My error I think as I was using the unlock and hide options on right hand side.

Thank you. I finally figured out an even easier solution: just change the .mov extension to .mp4, and the file plays in Chrome.

@Daniel F's seo essentials addon is very handy for this sort of thing.

    There's a good article about this https://yoast.com/update-or-delete-old-content-on-your-site/
It's primarily for blogs but you can also see it as inspiration for forums.

If it's REALLY SPAM or some offtopic stuff, I'm flagging it as no index.
If it's something helpful but outdated, I'm deleting it, but not without creating a redirect to the new helpful content!
It's IMO going to harm you a lot if you delete a topic that ranks very high for your relevant keywords, especially if you're also getting many visitors for it, either from the search engines, or other sites that link to it, so I'm always trying to create an useful redirect target for it.

Yeah, absolutely. Sorry, I thought it would be logical that it should be something related, so I didn't mention it.

I don't know the answer, but I'm assuming not only doing a redirect but to new and similar helpful content, not just some other helpful content that might be of different subject matter?
I can see Google considering it misleading if you say for example had a site related to pets with an outdated article on cats and you redirected it to a helpful one on dogs just to funnel the traffic to other areas of your site?

You can fix this by editing the applications/tcw/data/extensions.json file in the applications directory.
    Replace the files content with:
    { "core": { "Queue": { "legacyTopicFields": "IPS\\tcw\\extensions\\core\\Queue\\legacyTopicFields" } } }

The sitemap is built with a background task that runs all 15 minutes. This means that once you publish it, it won't be immediately listed in the sitemap, but it will appear once the sitemap is rebuilt successfully!
