Marc Stridgen reacted to teraßyte in Clicks on frontpage suddenly not working
If you have that code in your htaccess file then the Rewrite URLs? setting in your screenshot (which is disabled) needs to be enabled.
Also, this is the latest .htaccess file:
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c> Options -MultiViews RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule \.(js|css|jpeg|jpg|gif|png|ico|map|webp)(\?|$) /404error.php [L,NC] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </IfModule> Yours is missing the webp extension.

Marc Stridgen reacted to JohnCourt in Custom Blocks Location
Good day folks. I create custom blocks for a lot of things, temp blocks for an event I'd like to highlite for a time period, blocks for advertisers that have limited times of showing and no longer usable, blocks that at one time seemed like a good idea, and now they aren't.
As I was going through my blocks and cleaning house, I found it very difficult to actually determine which one went where and if it was being used or not. It would be nice to have a small blurb in the custom block "Details" where the block is being used, or not used at all.
Perhaps something like "used on acme page" or "not active" or something of the sorts. Thanks for your consideration.

Marc Stridgen reacted to LemonGrenade in Possible Backdoor hack?
Thanks @Marc Stridgen I've removed some 3rd party apps already and kept the ones that are only really needed!

All I can suggest at this point is to monitor, and if it happens again, disable all 3rd party applications and monitor again.

You are contradicting yourself a little there. These are either guidance, or requirements. They cant be both. The fact sites are using them doesn't make them a requirement. I understand you may like for these things to exist in the software, and feel free to do a feedback post on these to request changes in the platform if you would like for this to happen. But I cannot stress enough, you cant assume it's a requirement based on sites using them.
Just as an example. Almost every site on the internet has a footer of some type on their site. That doesn't mean having a footer is a requirement.

Marc Stridgen got a reaction from Sonya* in Achievement rebuild will take some months. How to stop?
There is no way in which to stop that process once its started, other than manually manipulating it in the database. Of course doing that would mean it would be part processed.

Marc Stridgen reacted to Stuart Silvester in Speed Optimization: Embedded Iframes
It may be worth both of you checking that you have lazy loading enabled - AdminCP > System > Settings > Posting.
Embeds, images, videos, audio are lazy-loaded via a Javascript method if lazy loading is enabled, the native options didn't exist when this was implemented but we have moved to a native solution in v5.

Also Snagit. I've been using it for years.

Marc Stridgen got a reaction from DawPi in Attachment images broken after upgrade from v3 to v4
There wouldnt be any simple way in which to achieve this. I would suggest employing a developer to assist you with achieving this. It may be worth looking through the providers section for people who offer these services. There are quite a few offering 3.x upgrades

Marc Stridgen got a reaction from SeNioR- in Form submission
Creating a form you can do with the pages application, and you could simply follow the database to get an email. However the custom logc and excel side of things would require custom development to achieve.

Marc Stridgen got a reaction from Sonya* in Disabling Store and Support in ACP
This is incorrect. Support is on the deprecation list. Physical items within store are on the deprecation list. Store itself is not. In answer to your question though, you could disable those if you dont use them.

Marc Stridgen reacted to opentype in Emoji in seoTitle & (un)Friendly URL | 🔥😅😲💛🤩🤮😊
That’s a somewhat dishonest approach. You suggest that the claim “not even good for seo” is proven by the links that the Google search would reveal, yet I checked the best results and they say NOTHING of the sort. The query doesn’t address “seo” in any way and so the results also don’t. They discuss the possibility of having emojis in URLs and agree that they are possible.
