Not my case. This is my only source of income for a couple of years or so (yes, I’m not crazy to have 200 resources for nothing) but honestly, this is becoming a pain more and more at every “new thing” IPS does.
IPS don’t listen. Just read. Try to justify things and that’s it. Nothing will change.
So for the rest (of us) stop wasting your time debating here. That’s how it will be from now on.

Du coup, ça me donne l’occasion de tout arrêter et passer à 100% sur les réseaux sociaux 100% gratuits.
Et je finirais par dire, heureusement, que Microsoft ne facture pas toutes ses mises à jour majeures ou de sécurités, voilà une entreprise qui pense différemment et à trouver des ressources ailleurs que de couper la tête à ses clients.

I know I've contributed well enough to this thread, so I'll end on this note. You're very clearly out of touch with your customer base. If you think we're just going to "get over it" while you're mocking us by advertising cloud hosting, you're mistaken.
You're going to lose the majority of clients that kept the marketplace alive, and following that the developers you've repeatedly hurt by your radical changes to the marketplace over the last several months.
I hope it was worth it.

I don't get it. Those of us who are self hosted are self hosted for a reason. We don't need you to "manage the internals." We want to host in our own, secured environment, that we have 100% total control of. Not create an external point of failure subject to downtime and potential for compromises.
Sure, all of the shortcomings of cloud hosting could happen to self hosting, but I'd rather go out in my own terms. 😉
You're advertising to the wrong crowd. If we wanted cloud hosting, we wouldn't have chose IPS.

That sounds like you've got something like mod_security on the server blocking the post submission. Your server administrator should be able to assist with that.

I'm really quite flat out with IPB 4.5 updates so although I'm open to the idea, I probably couldn't look into it for a while.
That's an IPS error, you'll need to contact them why your getting it. I don't have any control over that. Did you make a backup of your site before upgrading? If so, I can help restore the videos that way.
No not supported. Permissions for each category if that's what you mean? No compression, just raw video uploads. File storage settings supported, so you can set the storage path like any other app. HTML5 player. I can setup a demo if you would like to check it out but the Videos app is really much focused on video sites like YouTube and only offers basic video upload support.

Just curious, would you be open to the idea of allowing user uploaded videos to your application (i.e. upload direct to the site) as opposed to simply linking to media from youtube, vimeo etc?
I realise this can be done in the IPS gallery, but it's very clunky. Videos are called images. There's no automatic thumbnail generation. There's no compression. It relies on user's own video player rather than a standard one. Etc
Lots of features are missing from it that make it very usable as a video gallery, whereas your application seems like it would be ideal for this.
I'm not sure if it's something you've considered, but I'd certainly be happy to contribute to the development costs if it were.
