Simon Woods got a reaction from Matt in New: Reactions
Time for some competitions to decide custom reactions for this site!

Simon Woods got a reaction from Gowtham in New: Reactions
Confirmed: algorithmic site management coming to IPS. Humans no longer trusted with making decisions.

We encoded the binary image data for the heart icon across all the IPS4.2 source files so it really can never be changed. It took a long time, but we felt it was worth it.

We hardcoded so you can never change the icon. You must use the heart forever. It is a steadfast requirement. There are no settings to change it. If you try your site will delete.

It was all my idea and don't let @Charles tell you otherwise.
New feature ideas come from lots of different sources. Primarily features are added based on direct customer feedback but some come from staff members and some like you say are just "common sense".

Simon Woods reacted to Joel R in New: Delayed Deletes
Delayed deletes are, at least to me, a more elegant implementation than the forum trashcan.
Delayed Delete's ModCP listing contains all of the benefits of a forum trashcan: central location, delete when you want, one spot, easy to find and search. But it retains the location of the original post, which means you retain context and meaning and discussion flow. You don't have those benefits in a forum trashcan.

I would replace the "create an account" block for a set of buttons to "sign up with...". Thats would make the register process even easier and faster

The admin's device is not logged and the user does not receive a notification nor will see a log.
The "Disable Automatic Login" button also doesn't block a device, it just means you have to log in again if you go back to that device.

Admin login not included:
As such I assume that admins cannot be blocked.

I much prefer having a border around the buttons. Since, you know, they're buttons. If they're borderless then it's just text with no indication that there is a link there.

I didn't look very closely at the images earlier. Giving such large emphasis to the search input in the admin panel in 4.2 is a very good touch!
And all the settings and information areas for this looks nice

Simon Woods reacted to Mark in New: Delayed Deletes
With this approach, they're removed from view immediately (unlike hide, or 3.x's "soft delete") - they only show in the ModCP and are automatically removed from the database after some time.
Unlike other approaches which are variants on hiding content from the public, this is intended to be a safety net in case you want to undo a delete.
