RobertMidd reacted to Charles in Dissapointed in the lack of refund policy
I know of not a single software company that offers refunds. Try buying a boxed software at a physical store. Once it's open you cannot take it back.

RobertMidd reacted to Smokey-Rev in Dissapointed in the lack of refund policy
When buying ANYTHING digital, via online especially, you CANNOT get a refund once the files or software are in your possession, this should be for OBVIOUS reasons, but if they aren't obvious enough, I will state them:
- What's stopping you from claming a refund then still using or illegally re-distributing the software? Nothing. It'd be your word against theirs
-You'd still have access to the support forums and the client area.
Next time DON'T rush into purchasing software, research it, and research it EXTENSIVELY. Write this off as a lesson learn't and move on.
Just out of curiousity, what can't you do with IPB? There is an applications/modules/plugins system in place that should be able to take care of about 98% of your needs as far as modifications go. There really shouldn't be any need to edit any of the system's core files for any reason.

RobertMidd reacted to PromoPoker in Awful Support Service
I don`t know if this is happening only to me or not, but everytime i open a ticket i receive a response in not less than 48h.
It is very frustrating when i have some little issue that can be fixed in 5 min and i have to wait 2 days for an answer.
Usually i resolve it myself after some research.
You definitely have to review your support service, isn`t this why i pay 25$ every 6 months?

RobertMidd reacted to Tom Whiting in Absolutely HORRIBLE support response times!
lol @ -rep for posting honest feedback, nothing new there I guess.
The point of this thread is to provide feedback. Just because someone doesn't agree with it doesn't mean it's not appropriate, or deserves -rep.
Is the software decent? I can't say, its only been a few hours , but it does look decent.
Is the support acceptable? From what I've experienced (so far), not in the slightest. If putting something in the 'wrong department' (which it wasn't) means it's going to get delayed 12+ hours, then perhaps those understaffed departments need more staff, or people need to think outside of the box, and stop listening to ticket systems as to when to help someone.
Anyways, the feedback's been left. No, it's not an unreasonable expectation to want tickets answered same business day at all, especially when one is a new customer.

RobertMidd reacted to bfarber in IPB Upgrades Becoming Minor Annoyance
I'm not sure what the big deal is here, to be honest. There was a bug reported. It was investigated, the problem identified, the issue resolved in the next release following the report. That's normal procedure for bugs. Perhaps this bug is more annoying to you than other bugs, but in reality it's no different than any other bug that gets reported.

RobertMidd reacted to Wolfie in Bulk Mail alternative
The mail-per-hour should be a board wide setting. If set to 0, unlimited. Otherwise the number if the maximum number of mails allowed per hour. This way if bulk mail is being sent out and at the same time notifications or validation emails are being sent out, it will count everything so that limits aren't bypassed by mistake. I would imagine that it'd be possible to just put a timestamp with the number of mails sent out at that moment, then when the board needs to send out another piece of mail, it simply sees how many were sent in the last 3600 seconds and see how many it may send out.
Would be nice if we could also change the default number of mails sent out per cycle for bulk mails. But since bulk mail shouldn't be used but so often, it's understandable if it's left up to being a code edit if the person wants to change it bad enough.

RobertMidd got a reaction from Michael.J in Google Analytics integration?
Have you edited the settings in the ACP which requires you to enter your google website id. If it is still at the default then it will not show in the source.
@FirestarZA
it uses ga.js -

RobertMidd reacted to Michael in Include 'last build date' on the Downloads page
Since it often happens that a new version gets released, some bugs slip through the testing process and a new build of that version needs to be uploaded to our client centers, I think it would be very helpful if the Your Downloads page where we download our copies of the software showed the date (or some other such indicator) of when this particular version was last uploaded. Maybe a build number there would be a good idea instead?
I'm just thinking of all of the topics we get where folks talk about bugs they have that have already been fixed, but they might not necessarily have known the version was rebuilt.

Please see http://forums.invisionpower.com/topic/288523-hook/

RobertMidd reacted to IPBSupport.de in [Suggestion] Make the birthday format (profile) editable
Hello,
i have postet it as a bug a few days before (here) and now suggest it here:
Please make the birthday time format (profile) editable (with the time settings in the ACP).
Same for (all) other not editable time formats on the board (dont found other yet).

I think the OP means the format ... for example Americans/Canadians will use MMDDYY but in the UK we use DDMMYY

RobertMidd reacted to Michael in [Suggestion] Hooks - Data
Bump to bring this back up for discussion, this is currently the big stumbling block preventing some really awesome uses of the Hooks system. :)

These forums are not yet on RC2, so no time soon.
Also, I want the Blog and Gallery RC's first.
