    Thanks,
No application or plugin is required.
You can use it wherever you want.

Whatsapp is used by 99% of people in my country, and very used in Europe. It would need to be included in the system by default, not as plugin.

This argument makes no sense to me, because in my short time on IPB, I've been burned and scammed by purchasing numerous plugins and apps from devs that have disappeared or would submit something to get as many sales with the promise of future updates and support, only to remove their item once people start requesting the services promised.  Literally spent nearly $100 for a single app for it to be removed less than a week later and denied a refund by the dev.
So, basically nothing is changing except that I can choose to pay a now extra $190 each year to deal with this and keep my 3rd party apps updated, or I can just.. not.
You can pretend that they're making the marketplace better for everyone, but in the end they're just punishing the ones who weren't doing anything wrong in the first place.  They think they can somehow keep people from finding ways to get the content on this site without having a license when they can't.  There are currently 3 websites at the top of google that always have the latest marketplace items and update their content almost as quickly as it gets uploaded here.

To be honest, apps and plugins that get abandoned are one prime reason we need a way to sensibly obtain the files to fix issues ourselves if we want. I know many wont have the skills to do that but as someone who has patched abandoned plugins for vbulletin for years I think we as customers of plugins should have some ability to get plugins manually.
We are customers, pirates will always find a way to do what they want and they arent all lost sales but causing issues for customers will lead to lost sales. Always think of those that are prepared to pay over the concerns of those that would never pay.

As recommended, I'm creating this topic to reinstate the option to download files manually from the Marketplace.
It's bad enough you don't allow the download of apps we purchased when our licence has expired. But, to completely change the way file downloads are handle is a little much.

Please don't get me wrong, I love the idea that we can now do it all with ACP, but you shouldn't disable/change the way that a lot of us download files for localhost setups to test our sites before going live.

Please, please, please allow the option to download files manually like we've done for so many years!

(Edit: Happy 600 posts to me, woo!)

It would be a cool thing that you could yourself add what happened on what day manually if you run a niche forum where having these general history entries from wikipedia just makes no sense. if you run a gaming forum you could fill it with some facts that are only about games. but that would be a HUGE work.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not questioning your reply speed, you could have taken a trip to the moon for a year, I would have waited almost quietly as we all have a life, but at your return I would expect an answer.
When I reported that issue with NEXUS in January 22nd, you told me that you'll look into it, but then someone else @helloworld77 said he's having the same issue, YOU OFFERED HIM A PATCH... and when I asked again, sure you didn't answer; busy or holiday, but that's not the problem... the problem is when you returned, you answered messages from someone who posted after me. And no sir, what you said doesn't answer my question.. "update coming soon" doesn't mean that all reported issues or suggestions will be taken into account and that has happened before.
So let me rephrase, why can @helloworld77 get a patch for the same issue and I can't... or anybody else for that matter.
and why would I have to rush to everybody who sends me an order for points and add it manually while I've installed an app to have it done automatically.. maybe I also have 25 other things to do and maybe I can't take a holiday cuz there would be nobody left to rush to everybody...
Maybe you don't need to rush to everybody, but for a grouped answer, you sure need to quote/mention all those awaiting a reply, unless it is the same issue; which is not this time... just saying.
I'll wait for the update. Peace out!

Not sure what version of IPS 4.2 that issue sneaked in at - I was using the 'ipsnoembed' attribute on remote links as indicating that they hadn't already embedded, which means 'fair game' for my plugin. Looks like that attribute is no longer being applied on remote links, so had to come up with another option.
    What's fixed in v1.1.3
fixed an issue where new remote links were not being converted to display the audio/video player.

Each to their own I guess. I wouldn't want them like you have them. Too much visual pollution.

As mentioned Post Icons are there just like they were in version 2. Just conveniently tucked away.

Agreed. After reading this thread, and then wasting three and one-half minutes of my life watching that video, I am thinking about removing them from my forum - completely.

No doubt. We should focus on other, more important things... like watching the paint dry on the wall.  You guys do a great job! I love the software and the mods many of you come up with.

Let me think, this is a tough one! :D
Don't post icons appear in the lower part of the screen? You don't have to scroll anything if you don't want to use them mate!
You have a little button which reads "configure" post icons if you want to use icons, if you don't want to use icons, you don't have to click on it and then you'd see nothing. Perhaps you hadn't seen it? ;)
And who says you have to use my post icons? why would you want to? you dont have to.
    And you can use 1
    Or you can use 10
    Or you can use none.
    It's up to you.
    It's called "flexibility".

By the way, luckily, in the rest of the world, we sort out our differences without having to resort to guns.
Give peace a chance, mate! ;)

But don't you have to hack to add more than the standard 14? So isn't that option still open to you? To have a mod that puts them back, lets you define them, supports right-click etc?

I spent the entire time waiting for your video to get to the point, and I still didn't get it. The only thing I could get from the video, 3 and a half minutes of it, is that you like waving your mouse pointer around icons, and somewhere on the internet is a site that uses post icons for every thread.

For bonus points, I then went on to my own IP.Board 3.0.3 installation and created a thread with a post icon, so I could see if you did have a point.

    You did not.

So, could you perhaps explain what your problem is, without Youtube this time? Because it sure isn't deprecated post icons (which are right... there...)
