Hi, just wondering if there are any details available about the cloud email service for cic clients at all? For instance, does it use smtp or an api? Also, is it possible to set up things like SPF, DKIM and signing for it?

These arent things in which you need to worry about if you are using our email service. They go out from our address and is already set up.

Yeah, that would be correct, yes. We do not provide a personalised email service at present

So anyone concerned about branding is out of luck, as all email appears to come from invisioncommunity?

You're not out of luck, you just need to use your own email provider through SMTP or Sendgrid and not the built in one.

So cloud hosting is much more expensive and requires external email and external elasticsearch. Oh fun, can't wait.

Yes, if you wish to use your own email, you would need your own email service to do this.

I can't really speak for elastic search but I agree that the need for an external email provider is a bummer at that price point. Or to put it in a more positive light: it would be awesome if in the near future, the Cloud services included email services so that notification emails came from the expected domain name, and not from noreply@invisioncloudcommunity.com - without the need to purchase an additional service from a 3rd party vendor. 

I suppose that may belong in the "Feature Suggestions" forum.
