Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Emediate Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Our use case: User joins and registers and is in New Member group. Once they post in New Member Intros forum and it is approved, Group Promotions upgrades them to Member group (for full access to the site), when Post Count = 1. Since upgrading to 4.6.11, it is simply not working.
Marc Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Do you have an example member you believe should have been moved? I can then take a look for you
Emediate Posted March 10, 2022 Author Posted March 10, 2022 (edited) Sure: ashwathsivakumar is a perfect example. Edited March 10, 2022 by Emediate
Marc Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Your rules are currently set for more than 1 post. Both those members have 1 post, so would not fit the criteria as of yet
Emediate Posted March 10, 2022 Author Posted March 10, 2022 Ahhhh. Thank you! I had to reset this up after the language pack change, and had overlooked the More than 1 instead of More than 0. Cheers.
Emediate Posted March 10, 2022 Author Posted March 10, 2022 (edited) Should this promotion be instant? If so, it appears still not working. User: FNQ1503563753 User: Rahyro FNQ150356375 Edited March 10, 2022 by Emediate
Marc Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 It appears access has been removed there, so I am unable to look. Please could you correct this? Could I confirm the site? Its assigned as the .co.uk one at present.
Emediate Posted March 10, 2022 Author Posted March 10, 2022 I haven't changed anything. Is it because @Matt is currently looking at our other problem perhaps? 4 minutes ago, Marc Stridgen said: Could I confirm the site? Its assigned as the .co.uk one at present. Negative. .com We emailed requesting the .co.uk be removed from our account last year.
Marc Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Renewals were indeed removed, but it was selected for this topic. Not a problem, let me take a look and see what is happening for you Emediate 1
Emediate Posted March 10, 2022 Author Posted March 10, 2022 I just changed it to "Exactly 1" instead of "More than 0" but no difference. Either setting in theory should be OK I would think.

It would work immediately if they post, but not immediately when you change a rule. Once they do another action they would be promoted
Emediate Posted March 10, 2022 Author Posted March 10, 2022 (edited) No, those changes were after the rule should have triggered when another new member joined and should have been approved. I can do a test user manually now to prove if you like? @Marc Stridgen I just tested with a manual registration (Test User) and approval. Still not promoted to Member group. 😞 Edited March 10, 2022 by Emediate
Marc Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Pleae could you check the user name you posted? I cant see that user on your system in order to check whats going on
Emediate Posted March 10, 2022 Author Posted March 10, 2022 Sorry for confusion. Username is TestingMarc
Emediate Posted March 10, 2022 Author Posted March 10, 2022 How do we expedite this, as we are having to manually check and change every single new member signing up currently?
Jim M Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 I've moved this to a ticket to be further investigated as I tried a few different things with that user and couldn't get them to be promoted. You should receive further correspondence on this issue via email from the ticket soon.
Emediate Posted March 14, 2022 Author Posted March 14, 2022 In case anyone else is experiencing this, it has been acknowledge as a bug in Invision. Quote I have investigated the issue you reported and the problem appears to be a bug in the current release of Invision Community. I have submitted a potential solution for the issue described here and upon review by the development team the fix should be included in an upcoming release of Invision Community. Unfortunately, at this time I am unable to say exactly which release this fix will be included in. We do apologize for the trouble. Thank you again for letting us know, and don't hesitate to let us know if you run into any other problems! Hoping a patch doesn't take too long as this is a fundamental feature required for our every day use.
marklcfc Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 I use this similar to you, where post count is more than 1, is this not fixed in 4.6.11? I'm still on 4.6.10.

Group Promotions isn't working at all on 4.6.11 - so I'd stay on 4.6.10 until the next release. marklcfc 1
