Michael Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 We would have no way of knowing without knowing what it was you used.
Nils Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 So what is the verdict on this now? Will 3.4.2 include an improved non-RTE editor? If not, will a later version? And what about making the editor pluggable in general?
Nimdock Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I don't think there is an improved STE form what I can see. (Unless I jut completely missed it). :P
ZakRhyno Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Lindy, on 11 Jan 2013 - 22:57, said: I am not hiding the fact that we have somewhat dropped the ball on the editor for 3.4 and apologize for the issues and delay in resolving those issues. Rest assured, our development team is focusing and working tirelessly on getting improvements to you next week. We have heard your feedback and are doing what we can for 3.4.2. Thank you for your patience. Thus if this is a big boo boo, when will the update release be to fix this problem?
Andy Millne Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Thus if this is a big boo boo, when will the update release be to fix this problem? A maintenance release for IP.Board that contains numerous editor fixes is currently in beta testing.
cnmoore Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 This is really good news. Can you give us any idea of exactly which issues will be fixed/changed?
Aiwa Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Look at tracker... Fixed in 3.4.2 http://community.invisionpower.com/resources/bugs.html/_/ip-board/
Joey_M Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 http://invisionmodding.com/index.php?autocom=tutorials&article=319 This is the Floating Text code I use, I'll probably end up posting in the mod section as I don't think it is a bug but it worked in 3.3 fine. (apart from having to use a doc file to paste the code into, as I couldn't edit without it screwing up)
TudorV Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Here is my feedback regarding the editor, after playing around writing blog posts and articles in IP.Content. Do whatever you think is best for the WYSIWYG editor. It is important for most users, so just make something which works best for everyone. However... I'd like to have a simple editor which outputs clean HTML code (for example: with proper <p> tags instead of <br><br>). An editor which accepts HTML code as input and does not touch it when it writes it on the page. I need this kind of editor for writing IP.Content articles. Or blog posts. Markdown support would be great too...
msg Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Quick question for those who have made the update for the editor I'm in the process of taking HTML pages and copy the content to individual article. When I paste HTML code into the article editor I have this (B) change to  and © to copyright symbol Here the picture Can anyone do a test to see if this still happen with the editor update Also when i have bullet, all the bullet get a carriage return that leave an empty line, i need to delete the empty line to realign the bullet with it's text Last one does, table are enable on the editor?
Ryan Ashbrook Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 That's working as intended. The first one is an Emoticon code (which can be changed or removed) and the second (copyright symbol) is hard coded into the software.
Dylan Riggs Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 If it's going to be HTML code, it better be clean HTML code. No more replacing/taking out code just 'cause' -- That's so annoying
Christian M. Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I feel like IPS is just being rushed to do these changes, so many things to consider, but they have little time to "take their time" on on implements, removing, fixing features.
Christian M. Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 That's working as intended. The first one is an Emoticon code (which can be changed or removed) and the second (copyright symbol) is hard coded into the software. Actually i have found a way to disable that :| i got pissed off at it so I spent a few days trying to figure way out to disable it since it got annoying, its a simple file(s) edit. The (B) symbol wasnt what i was too worried about so i left it. all ive disabled was the Trademark copyright and something else that i cant remember. Now i make edits to the files every update i have to go through.
cnmoore Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I'm happy with the editor in 3.4.2 I posted simple directions for it on our forum.
Marcher Technologies Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 If it's going to be HTML code, it better be clean HTML code. No more replacing/taking out code just 'cause' -- That's so annoying This is still my frustration. If I am posting HTML, do *not* add random <div> tags, do *not* add <br /> for linebreaks automatically, do *not* modify my input in any way.....
msg Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 That's working as intended. The first one is an Emoticon code (which can be changed or removed) and the second (copyright symbol) is hard coded into the software. Thanks Ryan And what about the bullet were you able to duplicate the issue i have?
Ryan Ashbrook Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Thanks Ryan And what about the bullet were you able to duplicate the issue i have? That's the first I've ever heard of that. Can you reproduce the issue here? If so - I recommend submitting a bug report for our developers to review. :)
msg Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Here Bullet paste from web page A white line what insert Manipulate docking windows Reposition a window using docking stickers
cnmoore Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Yes, that happens when you paste. It puts in extra [*][/*] pairs. Easy to fix. Go to a line and backspace so two lines are merged. Then ENTER to separate the 2nd line and it will be right.
*José Antonio Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Not sure if it is the right place to ask this, but hover in bbcode "member" was removed in 3.4.2?
Marcher Technologies Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Lets see. Aiwa EDIT: Appears so. http://community.invisionpower.com/resources/bugs.html/_/ip-board/member-bbcode-r41127 Thank you Jose..... I have spent more than a week trying to upgrade another hovercard bbcode, your observation pointed out the actual problem.
