Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
xtech Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Well, forget what i said. It was just a matter of time. Today i went to the adsense Definitions and the crawler access was working fine! Thank you :)
Markus Jung Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Can you tell me the settings for IPS 4? I tried: Site URL: http://www.site.de/ Login URL: http://www.site.de/login/ Method: POST Parameter auth = username I created for the AdSense bot password = password I created for the AdSense bot But this is not working. xtech 1
Mopar1973Man Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Same here no luck either with this same settings. xtech 1

Mopar1973Man Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 My question is how do we resolve this properly meeting Adsense requirements? If we have semi-public area in other words behind a login area but still designed for the public? As far as what I got set up the login is not working there is never been a IP recorded other than my own for my Adsense login.
ptprog Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 The login page is now using a CSRF key, so I guess this will make it impossible to automate the login.
Morgin Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 (edited) Is this still true in respect of 4? I have this working on 3, but cant get it working on 4 on my test install. Edited March 24, 2017 by Morgin
Stormlilly Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Hi, I am struggling to get the Adsense crawler to login successfully to my IPS forum so that I can display ads on member only areas. These are my settings: I am using POST auth = username of my bot account password = pass of my bot account Can anyone who is successfully using Adsense on their site confirm the correct settings? Thanks for your help.
Morgin Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 Any assistance on getting the adsense login working would be appreciated.
Mopar1973Man Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Can someone post a fresh copy of the parameters that Google Bots need to login to the forum? Login URL = https://mopar1973man.com/login/ auth_key = 880ea6a14ea49e853634fbdc5015a024 ips_password = (Account password) ips_username = (Google Bot Username) rememberMe = 1 Are these correct?
Stormlilly Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 I had to remove my adsense. We were getting impressive traffic stats but virtually no clicks. I couldn't figure it out what wasn't working. Would love to know if you get it working well with your forums.

The 2 highlighted items are most likely the problem - look at the HTML source of your login page. Do you see any fields called ips_password or ips_username? Those are the names of the fields on the login page for my site which still runs 3.4.9 but the corresponding fields on the 4.x login page are auth and password
Mopar1973Man Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 (edited) I'll give that a shot and see what happens. ---TINKERING in the Admin CP --- It passes the login information now. Hopefully Google knows enough to hit the login button. Edited April 2, 2018 by Mopar1973Man
Mopar1973Man Posted April 5, 2018 Posted April 5, 2018 (edited) Like I said it passes the login info. Now how do you get it to login in? Here what I found on the Google side. https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/adsense/uzT7CuJBjnE Edited April 5, 2018 by Mopar1973Man

Mopar1973Man Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 auth = Username given for Google Adsense password = password given for Google Adsense NOTICE: This will pass the information along to the login boxes but still at this point for me it will NOT actually login. I've got a support ticket going currently to attempt to figure out why.

I've got a support ticket going currently to attempt to figure out why. As I mentioned previously, there seems to be a CSRF token in the login form. This would also need to be sent as login parameter, but this kind of tokens have a variable value. So, this is likely to make automated login impossible (but it would be nice if somebody from IPS could clarify this). Edited April 9, 2018 by ptprog
Mopar1973Man Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Thank you I passed it along on the ticket I've got going to see if we can get an answer to this puzzle.
Mopar1973Man Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Response... Quote Hello, Sorry, I did overlook that when reviewing the request. Unfortunately, yes all forms have CSRF ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-site_request_forgery ) protection. This requires a valid token to be sent with the form to validate the request. Unfortuantely this will mean that you cannot use the AdSense login functionality unless it can read the CSRF from the page and supply it (I'm not familiar enough with AdSense to know if it can do this). The CSRF token is unique to the current session, so it's not something you can provide to AdSense. Kind Regards, Stuart Silvester Invision Power Services, Inc. So we are basically without the ability to have Google Adsense Bots login to IPS software.
Stormlilly Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Does anyone have adsense working successfully on logged in pages?
andavis Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Nothing yet? I thought we could have a solution after so much time. Stormlilly, Mopar1973Man and Daniel Dziemieszonek 3
Morgin Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 It would be ideal given Adsense has to be one of the most popular revenue generators for forums.
