Windwalker222 Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Thanks for taking over this during the 3.2 change. It is a very popular item on my forum and many others. I appreciate all that you do and look forward to seeing the release of the shoutbox for 3.2
Gaffney Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Is there anyway that you can implement a setting so you can place the shoutbox above the board footer and next to the sidebar. So it's like a forum at the bottom and not 100% width.
devilz422 Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 hi there, sorry if it's been asked before. i'm wondering is it possible the shoutbox to be able to remember what the user's settings are, like they use certain color, certain font type, so the users do not need to change everytime they make a new post? thanks.

.zLuckrØx Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I was installing a shoutbox on the forum site and host of this error Fatal error: Call to undefined method IPSLib::makenameformatted() in C:\wamp\www\forum32\admin\applications_addon\other\shoutbox\sources\classes\library.php on line 700
Michael Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Don't install this application on IP.Board 3.2, it is not compatible.
Michael Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Yes, it will be updated for 3.2. It's just been done yet.
Michael Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 No, sorry, it's just whenever I can find the time to do it.
xChris777 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Michael, can you possibly help me with something? It's not a big problem, but it's one of those things that bothers you. I doubt you could help, because it involves a 3rd party skin. On the skin (Velvet by Skinbox) when you click Smilies, the menu comes up, but it looks like the menu background is missing: Screenshot: http://gyazo.com/beb...ccee961bcd24a39 Would you happen to know what is causing that?
Michael Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Can you post a link to your site, and the info for a test account, so I can see this problem live? I'd need to actually inspect the page's source code to diagnose it.

Michael Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Try adding this to the bottom of your ipshoutbox.css stylesheet for that skin:#shoutbox-smilies-button_menucontent { backround-color: #FFF; }

At first it didn't, and I was thinking, "Ahh crap, what to do now?" Then I realized you misspelled background, and I was like, "That silly Michael."
Michael Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Well, I have to keep you guys on your toes, don't I?
xChris777 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Well, I have to keep you guys on your toes, don't I? Very much indeed, thanks Michael : ) Now, would maybe now how to fix this? http://gyazo.com/b60...9251dead1d864ec Sorry if I'm keeping you busy, that skin hates the Shoutbox for some reason. The lines (blue separators) are missing and the text is bold. Screenshot: http://gyazo.com/a5e...0376741ee597e67
Michael Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I would actually report that to the skin maker, that's not a Shoutbox page, that's the IP.Board bbcode help page, built into the forums application. It looks like it's been left unskinned completely.
Rheddy Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Since this is a support topic and I don't feel like registering at any website to report a bug with Shoutbox 3.2 Beta 1, I'm reporting this in this support topic. When activating the "show Shoutbox on Board Index only" the Shoutbox disappears from the board index. Only way to access it is from the "tabbed link bar". However, when you enable the Shoutbox to display on every page, the Shoutbox display reappears on the board index and on every page.

I do hope you know he doesn't have to confirm, deny, or even respond to your bug report here.

I set up a bug tracker dedicated to this project I took over for the good of the community and you won't take the 2 minutes to register there so I can track this. I'm really getting tired of people like you, it's a good thing there are so many other appreciative people out there to balance folks like you out. I'll file the bug report on this and investigate it. Thanks ever so much for letting me know about it.
MadMikeyB Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Maybe I'm being stupid but how do I get the input box to be BELOW the shouts, and not to the right?
Michael Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Edit the settings for the Hook: Global Shoutbox and choose Theme 2 from the 'Global Shoutbox Look' setting.
Windwalker222 Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I want to thank you Michael, I had no idea that you would even have the time to get something like this out so fast! Thanks for all the great work you do. Without it our forums would be really plain. Hang in there, your one of those developers that really cares about the IPB community. Ron Added: Installed and works flawlessly. Seems snappier loading. Can't thank you enough.
