TrixieTang Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Looks like we're getting pretty close to When it's ready™
Oliver Beeck Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 A question to IPS staff: is the launch of IPB 3 a matter of days or weeks? I have an upcoming board and I might just wait for IPB 3 to come out to launch it. Thanks!
bfarber Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 It should be both a matter of days and weeks. I mean, if it was 8 weeks, that's 56 days. So either way you'd be right. :)
Tiki Tiki Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 [quote name='bfarber' date='22 June 2009 - 03:35 PM' timestamp='1245699350' post='1812590']I mean, if it was 8 weeks, that's 56 days. So either way you'd be right. :) And four days would be .57 weeks. :D
Connor T Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 After its release there all either going to wait for the big bug that ruins everyones installs'. Or there going to like Florida for some nice waves.
Oliver Beeck Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 so atleast seven days? Just so I know hot to plan this out.
Management Charles Posted June 22, 2009 Management Posted June 22, 2009 You can assume no one here is going to say one day or one month as a date :)
Mesmer Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 [quote name='Studiolounge' date='22 June 2009 - 09:41 PM' timestamp='1245699667' post='1812594'] so atleast seven days? Just so I know hot to plan this out. this is still funny :P
Oliver Beeck Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Charles I understand that. I just like to know if it is a matter of a couple days, a couple of weeks or maybe a month so I know how to plan everything out for my forum.
Mesmer Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 [quote name='Studiolounge' date='22 June 2009 - 09:45 PM' timestamp='1245699946' post='1812600'] Charles I understand that. I would love to tell you, I really would, but some people take release date estimates far too seriously and will go crazy if we miss an estimated date.

Connor T Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Tell your members Sunday, as in "some-day" and they'll think this Sunday, then you say "O sorry, I meant some-day."
TCWT Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Will there be a silent rollout? :P I hope the servers are capable of the surge in traffic.
Management Charles Posted June 22, 2009 Management Posted June 22, 2009 [quote name='TCWT' date='22 June 2009 - 03:58 PM' timestamp='1245700709' post='1812618'] Will there be a silent rollout? :P I hope the servers are capable of the surge in traffic. Yes, we will be very quiet.
Malefickus Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Well, considering the sale they have going is until June 30th, I would not predict a release before then. On top of that, all of the conversions they probably have lining up since they are free for those purchasing a new license, I'm sure they'll hold off the release a few more days beyond that even so they can catch up a tiny bit before the influx of requests come in immediately after release. By no means am I guaranteeing ANYTHING at all, but purely speculating, I would wager that we won't see anything until well after the 4th of July holidays. That is, if I was a betting man...but I'm not :P
Axel Wers Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 OK, now all please clear your cache folders and let's go to finding bugs in final release! :P :D

Mark Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 You know... we put a build new build on here a few days ago (you probably noticed the new expand/collapse) buttons, but because we kept "RC2" in the footer - nobody cared. Now we update it today, and put it as "3.0.0" - you all go nuts :P
Management Charles Posted June 22, 2009 Management Posted June 22, 2009 Yes and we didn't mean to take out the "RC2" tag but bfarber was hell bent on fixing a small language bit issue and did.
