TCWT
:ermm: hope there will be at least a mod for this.
Lindsey_
possible with the plugin system I think. I just don't want 'Forum Bloatware'!
TCWT
Dean's member map was a popular one..
Martin A.
So popular that it was only submitted to the authors own site, not any of the big resource sites. And that total download for the last version was 872, the number of registered customers on this forum is ~4240. In addition to those we have those without an active support license, and I believe that's quite a few. What I'm saying here is that that mod isn't as popular as you may want it to be. Management Matt Posted October 16, 2008 Management Share Posted October 16, 2008 I can categorically state that this will not be making an appearance in IP.Board 3.0.0.
Ziv Grosu
it would be nice to see the Member-Map when IPB v3 comes out.

Jaggi
yea it shouldn't and as matt states won't be added as default. Although after seeing firefox's map it made for ff3 i've been interested in playing with it. Might play with it...

Cybertimber2009
[quote name='m4rtin' post='1764755' date='Oct 16 2008, 05:41 AM']...And that total download for the last version was 872, the number of registered customers on this forum is ~4240. In addition to those we have those without an active support license, and I believe that's quite a few. 20.5% of all active members downloaded not only it, but the latest version. I wouldn't call that a few. My 2c: Leave it as a mod, espically for getting IPB 3 out into the wild. If you really needed it, you can just GOOGLE what the person put in for location. "Location: Right behind you!" And then you realize Google Local View utilizes webcams :P
Ambar
I used a member map, shoot can not remember who did it, But really need one for 3.0 suggestions would be great :)
3DKiwi
I had this mod way back around 2.0. The mod was very resource intensive and if you have 10,000 plus members like my site has the page was pretty sluggish. I deleted the mod when I upgraded to 2.1 or whatever the version was and not one member complained about the mod being removed. There were in fact 2 member map systems. One by Dean and another one by someone else. 3DKiwi
bfarber
I've always found this sort of mod pretty neat on a personal level, but impractical for the majority of our customers, and not likely something we'd include in the base release. Just my opinion.
Brett B
I would certainly use one on my site as it is locale-oriented, however I don't necessarily think it's something IPS should invest time in creating. I certainly wouldn't mind a reliable modification, though :P.
Michael R
I upgraded to 3 a few weeks ago. You would think the members would be loving all the new features! What do you think they whine about most? Arcade and Member Map.... <_<
_Diesel_
I use this service on one of my boards. It's an external link or you can redirect a forum to it.http://www.umapper.com/ You have to pay for it though, a few cents in my case. :D My Map (yes it's slow to load)
