Forum "Default Poll"

Would be cool if you could set a default poll when someone attempts to make a new topic in a specified forum (forum option). So lets say someone is posting in this forum a suggestion, a poll would show up already entered like this: Do you agree with this suggestion? Yes No That way the person making the suggestion doesn't have to put in extra effort to make the poll... And most people forget to do it anyway... It would eliminate the +1/-1 thing here, and could be... a use for someone else.... maybe? Then have the ability to sort a forum's topics by the total amount of votes (in the drop down on the bottom right).

Thank you for changing the method used to view the full size of a linked image. Now, you can click anywhere on the image. Before, I found the transparent div in the bottom right corner really ugly... not only that, it wasn't as user-friendly as it is now (click anywhere vs. click "here" -- tiny little box in the bottom right corner).

Cookies bugs in 2.2.0 RC 2?

A lot of my members having problem logging in 2.2.0 RC 2. Once they have logged in and refresh the page - sometime it logged them out automaticlly. However, I have disabled stronghold and this did not fix the problem. I told them to clear the cookies.. but sometime didnt fix the problem. It is very annoying to tell every members to clear their cookies.

I noticed this problem when i upgraded from 2.1.7 despite the fact that nothing was changed. I noticed that SupportersUnited also had the same problem as well. I think IPB should really look into this cookies issue. I see a whole lot of posts on it. And I hope this doesnt get locked because this COULD possibly be a problem since I am not the only one with the problem. Basically, this is a topic highlighting all of the problems that IP.Board's method of scaling down images has. Don't vote in the poll unless you have gone through this post, I want to get a general consensus of what people actually think and if you aren't going to read through this post, then this topic is pretty-much useless. (1) When viewing a topic, which has large images within. Of course the images are scaled down, but they are not scaled down until the page has finished loading. Just a small suggestion, but i would like to see the IPB software allow irc urls. i.e [url=irc://irc.oasiz.net]IRC Server[/url] Currently when you try and add an irc url it adds the http:// prefix in front of it. Example. Cheers :)

They really are annoying and in my book, considered spam. I still don't get why IPS allows those types of posts. Most of them are just +1/-1 alone with no explanation on why the oppose or agree with the feature suggestion. If you want to show support for a specific feature suggestion, type it out thoroughly and justify your position - don't just add a "+1, I like this idea, too!" post.

'Bread crumbs'

Just in case you don't know what 'bread crumbs' are, they are the things that show beneath the member bar. Example: There should be another one at the bottom, above the footer. (i.e. Above where the skin and language selectors are.) I know 2.2 is feature locked, but as this is already a feature, if enough positive feedback is recieved. Would you* possibly consider adding this? * you = IPS. :P Reason being, when I post, the browser is sent to the bottom of the topic. It's not too much trouble, but it can be a pain to scroll back up to the top sometimes.

Recently My board has had a problem where someone outside of our community has been able to gain access to my members' accounts through using a hotmail.com exploit, gaining access to the users' email accounts that they use for the forum profile, and using the password recovery tool to retrieve the account's login details. The last person that had this happen to them was one of my administrators, but luckily I was online at the time. I had all staff members hide their email addresses from the public and change them to anything except hotmail.com addresses. Something like this should really be default. Underneath the active users it should show a legend of all the groups, example: Root Admin | Admin | Global Moderator | Moderator | Validating | Member | Guest | Bot It is a very useful thing to have.

I know the official line is that it's only recommended to run final releases, but I am about to buy IPB within the next few days and was thinking about going straight to 2.2 RC2 for my board. Is it stable/secure enough ? Is anyone else going to use RC2 on a live board ?

I always like my search results to be shown as posts, but IPB always defaults to showing them as topics. Please can you allow all search options to be saved (it would be nice if this was done with AJAX).

1) When browsing a forum, the Search Forum/Topic editbox and button is displayed near the bottom of the page. Can this also be displayed near the top of the page (eg. Just below the New Topic button) to save having to scroll to the bottom of the page to perform a search. 2) Related to (1), when using the search box near the end of the page the results are always shown as topics. Can two radio buttons be displayed which give the option to select whether search results are shown as topics or posts. Hi there, I don't know if it's only me but I can't log-in for some reasons, I've deleted all my cookies, refreshed the page and cleared cache and still can't log-in it says log-in succesefull and then i see the Log-in box again :S

I guess maybe this is more of a question. Why is it that the option to add a new component to your board via the 'Import XML Component File' option is available from the 'Manage Components' menu link instead of the 'Register New Component' link? :whistle:
