Possible XSS Issue Addressed in IP.Board

I don't allow images uploads on my board. All the images are hosted on a free host such as imageshack, photobucket. Is it possible to happen the XXS attack due to the bug on IE 6 & 7? Does the installation of the patch to protect the froum count with support tech?. I don't have computer skills to do this by myself.

I have been researching all boards and forum systems. I think most of us agree that VB and IPB are the big players... I think both boards have excellent features.... BUT....I think that VB wysiwyg editor is far better than IPB.... If it where possible to add a better editor to IPB (like TinyMCE or FCKEditor) I think that IPB would be the WINNER AND BEST BOARD ON EARTH !!! What do you think? (I am not programmer...I don

Is there a way to get IPB to automatically deal with bouncing e-mails? People using the various trackers are causing a huge number of bounced messages. It would be good if IPB could log into an email account now and then and detect hard bounces or too many soft bounces and automatically discontinue the tracker. I'm sure there's open source code for this with things like phplist. Alternatively a control panel to shut off old trackers would be less effective and less desirable but better than nothing.

on boards that require registration to allow posting, validating members may use the "report this post to a moderator" button. of course, they do not report anything and do not write anything remotely usefull. most of the times trolls use this button to spam the moderators (including swearing). the only available choice is to remove this facility completely (from acp). i would like to have this button restricted to registered AND VALIDATED members. it would avoid a lot of problems. thank you.

Today I tried to change a few things on my board look : 1) Use larger font for topics titles only, on forums index and search results. 2) Use smaller font for "Last action", on forums index and search results. 3) Change forums titles color, on board index. I thought I could do this by overriding a few CSS classes definitions, such as "topic_title", "last_action", "forum_title"... But in current default IPB 2.2 templates, "logic" CSS classes are not used everywhere so it's not easy to change board apparence without changing multiple HTML templates. Minor suggestion but it seems to make sense :) I think when a specific forum is set to read only (in the forum management in the acp), the button should not show when viewing the forum as it serves no purpose and can confuse new members sometimes. I dont think this would be too difficult to do, possibly with some conditions (maybe even in the skin) , the other idea i had about it was to make it not clickable (same as normal members cannot click the closed button) , but that would take more work and may still confuse.

Hello ! :) I've decided to use a lot the calendar. My board is about education and there are many events that can be announced in the calendar (exams, information, events, holidays too :), etc. ). So I posted an announcement to explain members what the calendar is for and how to use it. And members use it now. But it appears that placed in the statistics section, under the "Today's birthdays" section, it is not seen by most members... :( Don't you think it should be at the top of the board, under the menus ? all of the performance options are turned on and off manually. the admin has to go in and decide if it should be on or off. this is not the best way to do it. ideally, the forum software should monitor the performance of the server or board, and automatically turn features on and off based on performance. if the load is EXTREMELY heavy, instead of putting up a busy message, it should switch to the lofi version automatically. second, if the load is high, it should switch to a lower res image format for any images that are too large (like in the gallery). perhaps use progressive jpg too. If search is enabled for guests, I think requiring a captcha to be entered is a good idea. To prevent unncessary searches made by bots/scripts, for security reasons and unncessary server load.

I have been programming now for over 20 years and although invision seems powerful, the management and configuration system stinks. if I need to make a change, it takes me forever to figure out where to make the change. I have to look elsewhere, on other forums, to ask for help to find the setting to change an option. this means your forum has a lousy layout. there is too much inconsistency in the config options. here is an example: under cpu settings it says: Remove 'Users Browsing this topic' feature? trademark and copyright infringment question

This is an important matter please respond quickly. He is obviously using the Invision logo in a confusingly similar manner which is trademark infringment. He also used the graphics and simply changed their tone.
