Changing the charset?

I have noticed that the forum charset is "iso-8859-1" by default. My IP.Board forum is still completely empty, and I would like to change this charset to UTF-8. Is there any potential issue to do that? Thanks in advance, Best regards, Joannes lokad.com hosted sales forecasting

I'd like to see this made easier because at the moment is such a long mission to add custom post icons. First you have to name the icons right then you have to add lines and lines of code the skin template which is just a long and unneeded process. Also seeing as post icons sit in a directory on its own wouldn't it just be easier to read all the img files in that directory and parse them automatically into post icons?

[Suggestion] Make the search box directly available

The search box needs to be clicked to be displayed; this is a bit painful. In particular, it is not possible to reach the search box through simple tabbing (i.e. hitting "tab"). It would be really nice if it was possible (possible as an option). Best regards, Joann

Wow, this editor looks great :cool: Questions: Does IPB have a converter to switch from MyBB to IPB Am I charged for the conversion if I have IPB do it? How long does it take Customer service to respond to your technical questions with a paid licence? I have a forum that represents a major music company and when something goes wrong I need help now, not a day, 2, 3 or never. 24 hours or longer is to long to wait when your having an issue that needs resolved quickly. Any luck on this end of your service IPB?

Remove "Calendar" link when no calendar is present

When no calendar is defined, the "Calendar" link on the top navigation bar gets broken, see http://lokad.invisionzone.com/ It would be really nice if the "Calendar" link was just "disappearing" when no calendar is defined. Best regards, Joann

Install Fonts

I think there should be a folder where you just insert a windows font or a mac, linux font whatever so you could use a different font while posting. Example: I want to use a font called Hamborakn(spelling?)(spiderman font) on my forums. But I can not because It does not allow you to install ttf t1 fonts. Maybe 2.3.0 should allow this. I know you're working hard on this but maybe that's a feature that a lot of users want.

Alteration to Warning system

I know the warning system could really use an overhaul, but let's think baby steps here :P I'd like to see a small expansion to the current waning system that allows administrators and moderators to post a comment to a user's "rap sheet" that doesn't cause the warning to increase/decrease in any way. Mainly to track minor offenses or "first warning" type things. At IPSBeyond we have to have a separate forum specifically for this purpose, though not used often :P This would remove that need for our site and, probably, the many others that have these extra forums as well :) Blame this guy for making me think of posting this

Dear IPB Team I would like to recommend you to enhance the writing process in the board (wrting topics and replies). When I want to use Insert list functions, I would like to be done for me automatically without using the [l i s t=1] [/l i s t] tags. Exactly like what vBulletin done in their 3.6.7 version (go and see). Also, in the (Indent) function tag. Other thing is that when writing in the code tags, I would like to see the code colored weather it is PHP, Java, C# or C++. Also, like what vBulletin done in thier version(go and see). Dear IPS staff , I have noticed that the correct IPS version(2.2.X) lack the option to see the date of the registration of the newest member in the bottom of the index statistics. i belive that a user friendly option in the admin control pannel would be a nice addition in the new version. I do hope that you take this suggestion to your attention and keep on doing an excellent job with IPB products. Thanks in advance, Natthew

Looks like the spam bots can decode the captcha in ipb2.2 now as well, pitty it has been good for a while, now it's back to pruning topics :( Does anyone have a good captcha modification (which doesn't need truetype font processing) to replace the standard captcha with?

After an x amount of days, if there is no reply to a topic, the topic should automatically closed with a reply. Should be configurable which forums these apply to. Another suggestion, close topics with reasons without having to type them out (in the drop down mod box). Like for example, i have to close alot of topics since i have er... flamable forum which turns out to be threads such as vB vs IPB, UK vs USA (yes i know, retarded) so these two suggestions should help all. ;)
