Customer noted the following areas should be abstracted so they are easier to skin (and so they can be customized on a per-skin basis in the case of the RTE for example)

Website content revision

I suggest that you (I.P.S.), review your website. Over the past few weeks, I have found minor errors on your site, but you have managed to fix them. The next thing you need to work on is the client area. I recommend that you test every single function, script and link that are made available for use to customers (including payment gateways). I purchased a product using PayPal. When I was redirected back, the link was broken. I noticed the link is suppose to be: https://www.invisionpower.com/customer, and not: https://www.invisionpower.com/ip.dynamic/customer. The error message was in bright juicy red, stating, error detected in the gateway, but the payment was sent, so t…

How do I move the "Recommended Sites" block on the portal page from the bottom of the list, higher up? There doesn't seem to be a setting to arrange the block were you want them in order from top to bottom.

Grouping RSS Feeds
by Guest Katsuma- 0 replies

I have 21 RSS Feeds that I import and it would be nice to be able to have them grouped in my ACP so as I add more, its easy to manage. So instead of seeing when I log in, I could see for example This could give me the opportunity to create my own groups so it could be done by the source, the receiving forum or member name.

InVision board crashing in IE6 badly
by Guest trodas- 1 reply
I come here to report that using old original IE6 from my Win2k SP2 or 3 or SP4 now some modified versions of InVision forum crashing my IE6 v6.0.2600.0000 badly. Look: Higher IE6 version, from XP SP1.0a - v6.0.2800.1106 is working fine. Another way to fix it is replacing the mshtml.dll file taken from IE6 under WinXP - that does fix the crash on Win2k IE6. (orginal mshtml.dll - 2 752 000 bytes - could be specific to Czech localized Windows, too) (new mshtml.dll - 2 833 920 bytes - could be specific to Czech localized Windows, too) This way is a big unconfortable for me, so I just want to report this problem. It is not stability problem of my machine. It is not rela…

Since the currently used letters used are always uppercase I don't see the need for them to be case dependent when entering.

[Review] Invision power 2.3.x
by Guest Shadow82x- 2 replies
- 2.1k views
Invision Power Board 2.3 final grade: A When I first saw invision 1.3 I thought it was better than all the softwares from the start it had features no other software had. I thought this was amazing. Than I found out that 1.3 was the last free version of ipb and saw all the great features 2.x had and I was stunned. The part that amazed me the most was the profiles that kept me addicted to this forum. Now with the speed increase in 2.3 it seems as if ipb is the fatest around. With the profile, inline posting, ajax assistance, and great looking friends list nothing stands in IPB's way. Also with the great add-on's like blog, and downloads your forum users would love this. I…

Suggestion: Posts/Topics moderated page
by Guest TCWT- 3 replies
- 1.3k views
For topics and forums which require all posts/topics to be approved, it's good to have a page that informs them that their posts or topics need to be first approved by a moderator before it is visible. It should be shown right after the user clicks on the Submit button for their new posts/topics. vBulletin has this feature, I don't see why IPB should neglect it. This would avoid any confusion with members asking where their posts/topics went and cuts down on duplicate posts/topics.

Is there any way to use soft delete on posts/threads in IPB? Do you have to install a addon? (if there is any).

Better anti-shout
by Guest Flo- 4 replies
- 2.2k views
I apologize if this has been requested before (search didn't turn up anything useful), but the current anti-shout function is awful. There are far too many "false positives". InterCaps should not trigger the shout filter, neither should roman numerals. My suggestion: anti-shout should only trigger on three or more consecutive caps, with roman numerals as an exception. "SomeTitle XII" should not be converted to "Sometitle Xii". Also, previously lowercase words should be preserved. Currently when the shout filter is triggered, every word is converted to Xxxxx case, even if it was all lowercase to begin with.

Skin For Spiders And Skin For Members
by Guest Tariel Zivzivadze- 0 replies

I have two skins on my forum http://www.conference.ge One is for spiders, light skin, standart IPB skin, with no midifications in it ... to enable the spyders crawl easier and take only important information with them [this also saves traffic]. The another one is the default skin for the members. I constantly update this skin in order to improve ... add modifications etc ... Today I discovered, that several modifications I made to the skin were not depicted in the google sitemap. Specifically, I was removing many internal links for the SEO purposes [fewer internal links, more PR concentration on the index ... ], updating the template html bits ... many more ... So my…

[suggestion] remove 'powered by..'?
by Guest sallam- 2 replies
- 1.6k views
I hope IPB developers consider adding an option in ACP that would allow us to remove 'Powered by Invision Board' from page titles. Everyone is doing it, and its legal, so it would be a great help to add it as an option in ACP, instead of manually editing boards.php with every new update. Many thanks.

Piracy
by Guest Andrew2060- 2 replies

As I did not know where to post this, I posted it here, sorry. I have reason to believe that the following site: http://mschatfourm.f3hosting.com/forums is running a illegal IPB script as when I asked a friend of mine who has IPS relations, how to check for piracy, he said something about ipscheck or something, the exact code he gave me was <ipscheck> <result>1</result> <customer_id>0</customer_id> <account_id>0</account_id> <version_id>22010</version_id> <version_string>2.2.1</version_string> <release_hash><{%dyn.down.var.md5%}></release_hash> </ipscheck> I'm not sure if this is …
