Posted April 14, 200717 yr What do you guys think? about the price of IPD i hope its not too high =) i cant wait to get it.
April 14, 200717 yr I think that would be a fair price, considering the effort that has gone into producing it.I personally can't imagine it being cheaper than IP.Board.
April 14, 200717 yr well if you guys are right i might not be able to get it =( oh well all i can do now it hope...
April 14, 200717 yr If they had a dollar for every one of these topics since the announcement of IPD, and a quarter for every reply, they could effectively fund the development and give it away free.
April 14, 200717 yr I'm assuming at least 250 for a standard license, maybe 325-350 for the professional one.
April 14, 200717 yr I'm sure TurXaliM would know. $150+ Voted.I'm suprised he hasn't posted in this topic. well if you guys are right i might not be able to get it =( oh well all i can do now it hope...I think you voted for $80-$100, as that was the only one which had a vote in when I voted. I don't believe it'd be that cheap. If they had a dollar for every one of these topics since the announcement of IPD, and a quarter for every reply, they could effectively fund the development and give it away free. I'm assuming at least 250 for a standard license, maybe 325-350 for the professional one.Sounds fair.Someone voted for $30-$50

April 14, 200717 yr the most i can probably afford is $150 welll if it takes a while for it to come out maybe ill have enough time to get some more money
April 14, 200717 yr I think IPS should use a new method to determine thier prices:a = number of topics asking already answered questionsb = number of memberator postsc = number of IPS staff.price = (a*c)^b
April 14, 200717 yr Someone voted for $30-$50 :blink:Well it's just a component like blog/gallery, right?
April 14, 200717 yr From now on, I will add a AD to my site to earn some dollars to purchase IPD,

Although, I wouldn't leave that "maximum" in there if I was him.I recall asking Charles on this once, and was pretty much told that if you were expecting it to be cheap, expect to be severely disappointed. Target market and all that. No, I don't have exact or even ball park numbers, just "not cheap".But then, its feature list (what we've seen, and I doubt that that's all there is) makes it look worth it.
April 15, 200717 yr I'd throw in a ballpark guess, for the target market, at something around $500+... which in fairness, isn't that much money. :)
