The Emoticon setup needs to allow for multiple triggers to get an image to show! In the past I used to put ":smile:, :), :-)" for example for the smile emoticon. But now it states that you should not put commas, even though in the past it would allow those where an image could have multiple triggers. So the final result is if I change what triggers a smiley, I have to search through posts for the old trigger and change it to the new one. It should either have a tool which changes post content with a search and replace if you update a smiley trigger or it should allow for multiple triggers where broken images don't show up.

I have just browse through this forum and have seen so many restrictions, why is there so many restrictions in here. how are ppl ment to get help if you restrict ppl from viewing the whole board? I came to this forum to get some help to fix my own forum and cant view any of the topics because they are all restricted but only some certian group can view them. this is utter outragous and stupid

My site is just live and google has started spidering it. But, when you look at the results, they look like this... ... Go to ACP - Tools and Settings, there are Clean-up Tools. IPB 2.1.x -> 2.2.0 Upgrade Tools IPB 2.0.x -> 2.1.0 Upgrade Tools IPB 1.x.x -> 2.0.0 Upgrade Tools Are these tools usefull if my forum is running 2.3.4? I think could be disabled to preventing of accidents. I remember that I run some tool (IPB 2.0.x -> 2.1.0 Upgrade Tools) and my custom skin (2.2.x) gave IPS Driver error then or something similar.

ACP - Support: There is Diagnostics table. But I think that table could be under Admin section. I think it's better for this. Many time when I would like to run some checker first I go to Admin section, and then I say yourself "ahaa diagnostics are under Support section!" Those checkers are admin tools too, aren't they?

Hi all, I'm planning to launch a new adult content board in the near future. I'm not sure what plugins, etc. I should get when I purchase the IPB software, so I hope to get feedback from current IPB customers before talking to a sales rep. Here's the criteria for the board: I expect to have approx 10,000 users to start on an adult content board, I hope to expand quickly via aggressive marketing (no spamming, just Google Adsense and banner exchanges :) ). Eventual membership up to 300,000-500,000 not unrealistic, from what I've seen on other adult content boards. Due to the adult nature of the board, it will need to be easy for me and the mods to spot and temp/perma-ban…

I just downloaded the 2.3.3. to 2.3.4. update, but the current version of my forum is at 2.3.1. Do I need an update from 2.3.1. to 2.3.3. or does the most current update (2.3.3. --> 2.3.4.) also contain these bugfixes? I don't feel like reinstalling my entire forum just because I missed three minor bugfixes, and I was wondering if older updates were still available. (within reason, of course :) )

If I visit the webiste as a Guest and I click on 'Mark All Post As Read' located near the end of the forum it does not mark any of the post as read, it still shows them as NEW posts. This is only happening on version 2.3.4 as it did not do this on the previous version of 2.3.3 any ideas as to why this is happening.

OK. I want to be sure that I understand how this works and if it is not working has a fix been issued. In security is the option to check that a member is using a browser and is using an IP address. If someone logs in using IE7 than logs in using Firefox is the software supposed to kick one of them or block one of them? Same thing if a member logs in at work than goes home and logs in while still on at work. Is the software supposed to kick one of them or block one of them? It does not work on a 2.31 board and a 2.33 board. Do I have a misconception on how this is supposed to work.

An ability to redirect new members when they login for the first time in the forum, to a pre-made topic created by an admin or moderator. So, the forum will have a "welcome topic" for all new members. With this topic, the admin can write some important infos for new members, etc. Thanks for read. :)

In my opinion IPB should have better email handling for bulk email and regular emails such as subscription notifications. More and more mail servers are placing limits on the amount of emails received per domain per hour or per day and if this is breached then it will blacklist or mark as SPAM all emails from that domain for a certain amount or time or indefinitely. A great feature would be to limit the sending of mails per hour per domain, a setting which can be edited in the Admin CP. Eg. If the next email in the queue is from the domain bob.com and 100 emails (Setting in Admin CP) have been sent to this domain this hour (Setting), then skip the next email in the ma…

I would like to see this simple feature request implemented into a future version of IPB When you click Admin CP a login screen appears. if you are logged in then the username field is already filled out. if you arent logged in then its blank i use ACP quite a bit and the majority of the time the username field is always filled in already. sometimes i will click the password field and start to enter my password but if the page hasnt fully loaded then the input fields focus is changed to the username field regardless if its empty or not and some or all of the password im inputting is entered into the username field along with whatever is in there and can get quite anno…

Improve Statistics - add "Number of active members"

Under the "statistics" in the Admin control panel, there is the no. of registered member (illustrating new membership signed up), no. of posting, topics viewed, no. of PM etc. But it doesn't show "number of active members" on a per day, monthly or yearly basis. As an administrator of my forum, I would like to measure 'no. of active members' per day/monthly/yearly (those who login). It might help if there is also a "number of active posting members" per day (those who participate in posting).
