Upgrades should upgrade other language sets other than the english one

Hi, When there's an upgrade of the board or an other product such as the blog only the english language file is being upgraded. After an upgrade you have to compare the english language files with your custom language files to add the missing language strings. It would be nice if the new english language strings are being added to you custom language sets too. Regards, Johan

It would be amazing to still be able to perform member searches (a short version) after you search for a member and get results or while editing or after you've edited a member. I hate having to repeatedly go back to the manage members link to perform a different member search to edit another member.

Hiya I run a forum on MyBB but want to purchase an IPB license and convert over. Before I buy anything I need to know can I convert the latest version of MyBB to the latest version of IPB? I emailed sales and conversions and neither have gotten back to me so I figured this would be the quickest way to find out. Thank you.

Right now, if you see somebody's profile you'll notice a series of tabs, one says, "Blog" another says, "Gallery" - most of the times, the user doesn't have a blog, so after you click on "Blog" tab, you'll see, "No blog found". That's one click wasted :-( I suggest: If there is no blog, dim the tab (so make it gray or something) and make unclickable. It'll save a click or more :-)

It should be removed so that people can first purchase a host and then get a domain name from invisionzone and also can change it by giving money to domain network. I got puzzled what to write in that box and I wrote www.invisionpower.com because I thought that we have to write a site from where we got hosting.

Have a selection for category or forum. I think it could help a lot of people, at least I think it could/would be easier in the long run, to have the ability to search either the parent category of the forum or the forum when you click on search. Sometimes you could be in the right category but not the right forum so you either have to take the time to get to the parent category OR use the advanced search OR you have to do the search on the whole forum and end up with not enough results or not the results you wanted but I think that if you could search the parent category would help this problem at least in my opinion. Forgive me if this has been addressed before but I've never really taken much interest in forthcoming releases... however, I've heavily customised my IPB installation to my website these days, both at the core files level and skin level. With this in mind, I'm wondering what will be the policy with beta releases, as it would be a great help to me if I can get my hands on the software to start working on moulding the software to my website. What is the likely course of events?

I think that IP.Board, in the ACP shuold have the ability to import IP.B. MySQL logs from other boards. It would make transfering over a board so much easier :P

After having a rather harrowing weekend where my server was hacked and my IPB files corrupted, to top it off, I was also unable to access the IPB customer forums to get help. I was at the end of my rope, frustrated with tickets and blocked forums. I just got off the phone with IPB support and I want to thank Nakisha for her quick resolution to my access problem. :wub:

I understand that this is probably way too big of a request to be making when you've already started development, but I think it is worthwhile anyway... It seems to me that with IPB being an inherently social platform, and with the profiles moving to a more customisable, user-based approach, that integrating Google's OpenSocial would be a very logical step for the software. It would allow forum admins and users to take advantage of a vast array of existing applications, that will continue to grow, without having to implement a new framework and API for doing so (as you have with profile tabs as they are now...)

Allow members who can see the forum but cannot read topics to see the

1. Have a forum with Show rights to x user 2. Have a subforum inside that forum with Show+ rights to x user 3. In order for the user to see that subforum, the option "Allow members who can see the forum but cannot read topics to see the topic list" has to be set to Yes. If set to No, not only does the topic list go away, but so does the subforum. The subforum should stay. I'd actually consider this a bug. The user has show rights on both forums, yet he's not shown the subforum (even if he has permissions to "Show Forum" on both) if he doesn't have "Read Topics" perms to the root forum, and that option is set to no? "Topic list" doesn't (shouldn't) include subforums.

I am having a difficult time trying to download IPB again in my client panel and once I log in, It dosnt show the any files in the download manager like it used too. How will I be able to upgrade ipb or nexus or even get the tracker if non of the files are showing? Anyone else having this problem? :o

I've noticed this too, and many people have complained: The new profile view squeezes the vital information to the far left, and the most vital stuff is at the bottom. So, scrolling is always needed. :-\

I *finally* switched over to the new profile and I'm loving it - except for the fact that tons of people on my forums have started 'competitions' about who gets the most views. SO, these guys put a macro to F5 all night, and in the morning they have tons more views - and all night my server has been slow and a bunch of wasted bandwidth!!! <_< There needs to be something built in IPB to keep the same people from amassing views. SOLUTION! Make a field called "Last View IP" and store the IP address of the last viewer in there, if the IP is the same, don't +1 view. (so, somebody can't consecutively go to a profile 10,000 times in a row and raise their views to 1…

So assuming many current IPB customers are using the latest retail version of IPB, along with a custom skin, and with some mods, will migration of these additional tweaks be easily convertible? Like many popular modifications, such as IB. Market, and one of the many popular point systems, they would be rendered useless until upgraded by the mod writers. I guess I answered my own question for that. How will upgrading 2.3.5 skins to 3.0 be like?

I tried to search this out and I don't believe anyone have suggested this. I have noticed a decent amount of suggestions related to the warning system. I would love to a task that decays member warning levels over time if no warnings have been given to that member over a certain period of time. The settings needed are the following: Enable Warning Decay: yes/no Number of days of 'good behavior' until decay: x days Decay interval (days in between warning decreases): x days Decay amount: x % Here's an example. Hello I and a friend of mine has a problem with his forum. He has 2 MySQL databases and run on different ports. The newer of the two on port 3307, where he would like his board to install. Only he gets an error message if he set up the host to "localhost:3307" consecutively. Therefore, there is a possibility the IPB to a MySQL database to install on the 3307 port or another is running? by Warkiller102

I'm assuming all of IPB's components (e.g. the gallery, blog etc) will be upgraded to their respective "3" versions and released at the same time as IPB3? Considering the huge amount of change to the IPB's framework, I'm thinking they'd leave the current components pretty much screwed without an update :P ... which also brings up the question, will these updates to the components simply be a fix to get it working on the new framework, or will they have new features as well? Can anyone confirm? Particularity IPG3, as that's the one I care most about :lol:

I noticed Akismet is being shipped with IP blog now. I have been wondering, would it be possible to allow it to screen posts and possibly registrations on IPB? I have used akismet a few years ago on a PHPBB forum, and it worked great. I have used an akismet IPB mod once, that is no longer supported or working. I would love if it would become a full-feature of IPB. What do you think? I would like features that preview registrations and posts, and if they are rejected for spam, put in the mod qune or for registrations, the approval qune, possibly x # of spam posts triggers group change?
