When there's an upgrade of the board or an other product such as the blog only the english language file is being upgraded. After an upgrade you have to compare the english language files with your custom language files to add the missing language strings. It would be nice if the new english language strings are being added to you custom language sets too.

And it has been suggested before, again and again.

I think you will find updating your language packs in IPB3 to be much easier. There are a lot of changes to the language system in IPB 3, in the next few weeks we will post a blog entry about some of them.
