Request for better stats system

Hello, I'd like to request improvements in an area where IPB has been lacking - statistics. IPB is an INCREDIBLE software, don't get me wrong, but I'd definitely like to see improvements with regard to statistics. This is the SMF stats center, which was probably the only good part about SMF: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/in...hp?action=stats. I hope to see some improvements in the form of statistics in IPB 3.0. Thanks guys, and keep up the fantastic work!

Ok so .. do you guys EVER .. check the reports of nulled boards? I have reported 2 board in the past month and the forums are still there .. also .. I asked if you guys could reply to me and nothing. I despise nulled forums and I would like it if you guys could do something about this, please.

Didn't want to throw this in the bug tracker, but this can be an issue.. If PM attachments are allowed, there is no way to control them.. Yes, you can control the size and the total space for each member.. However, you cannot prune the attachments from PMs through Attachment Search, and there's no easy way to prune old PMs. This, of course, then opens up a whole new can of worms about people WANTING to keep attachments in their PM, and keeping them in their saved items. Something that probably could use some thought on a better way to handle.

My idea includes the global-settings; advertisements allowing template conditionals; timed-advertisements(start..end..), preset popular ad-locations and functions such as sponsors; additional custom locations; random and static advertisements and its all very easy to use that one. Principally if you don't know how-to develop & if you don't have a power to put your `Adsense` code somewhere it must be easy for you......!

I use Ctrl + B/I/U a lot but there is a little thing that bugs me about it; when you do that (when text isn't selected) the focus goes to after the BBCode, rather than in the middle. e.g. Currently: [b][/b]<little text flashing thing> Instead of (and what I Suggest) [b]<little text flashing thing>[/b] So, yay or nay?

I have for a long time thought that the ucp is one of the most confusing parts of ipb. It hasn't received any real updates in a long time, its not particularly simple to navigate and finding stuff can still be difficult. Even when i visit it now i have to pause for a moment to remember where things are. Most of the issue is down to de cluttering it and recategorising things so its simpler to find and understand. I also think the 100yr old nav box and content box doesn't work any more either specially since i'm on a huge res here and still have to scroll down to see all the options. Idea is to maybe change it to using a tabbed interface maybe even with a smaller nav are…

I saw a topic about the paid modifications being allowed on the resource site, but can't find it now so I had to make a new one and had no idea where to post this. Basically I read the guidelines, but am not 100% sure how the process all works. Do I upload the ACTUAL program file just as usual? If so how is it set whether their payment has been received where they can download it? Or do I put a placeholder type of file there and I myself send them the true file when they pay? Also wondering what people use for their payment methods. With paypal it says only 5 transactions can be made involving credit cards within a year apparently??? That doesn't make sense. T…

I just want to point out that, its unfair to me how i invested well over $500 into this software and other 3rd party software or graphics to go with this software. Suggestion: utf-8 native

Since there are a lot more characters then the a-z alphabet the utf-8 option should be the natural selection, with a legacymode for those not dealing with the utf-8. This since more and more softwares use utf-8, since it solves most problems with characters. Would I be allowed to post links to mp3 CLIPS on my forum , the IP Board was the package what was included with being hosted wih you guys. I don't know if this is illegal in your eyes but only if its clips not full tracks? OR WMA'S.

I've seen this done. Basically you can control the preloaded avatar gallery via the admin control panel. Possible advantages being easy to manage and more control of the name of the avatar, instead of the file name. It would also maybe get people to get rid of the dumb defaults.

For instance, if I only wanted x groups to be able to see the output generated by the custom bbcode, I could use <if member[ 'mgroup' ] == '4'> My custom bbcode code </if> Not sure if the actual skin logic is correct, but you get the point. I was reading through vBulletin's site (yes, I know they're not the same - I've seen the 12 page topic in the Customer Lounge) and noticed that they'll give you a referral link to put on your site, and for each license that is sold via said link, the customer earns a 20% commission. Just out of curiosity, would there be any possibility of IPS doing anything like this in the future?

I'm really excited for the upcoming IPB 3.0 release, but in the meantime I use VBulletin based on a points system called VBCredits. My whole community is based on points, and I would like to know if IPB 3.0 will have points convertor? VBCredits also can support real money purchasing (via Paypal, and more alternatives to come), so since you decided to make the points system built in feature I would like to have this option too.

Someone tried to hack my forum from Honk Kong, guessing the password to the control pannel. They tried 15 times in a period of three days. It would be interesting to include in the new version some kind of protection to avoid the hackers to access the log in page of a forum and try to guess the password? It would improve the security as many forums, cause even though it's difficult to hack a forum just guessing the password, it's not impossible.
