I'm really excited for the upcoming IPB 3.0 release, but in the meantime I use VBulletin based on a points system called VBCredits.
My whole community is based on points, and I would like to know if IPB 3.0 will have points convertor?
VBCredits also can support real money purchasing (via Paypal, and more alternatives to come), so since you decided to make the points system built in feature I would like to have this option too.

The specs, posts, and discussions I have seen indicate there will not be any 'points' system built into IPB3. Such systems are commonly requested and are left to the modding community to implement at this time.

Well, I can't find it right now, but I remember I have seen it was told that it's gonna be built in feature.

There is going to be a reputation system. That may be what you're looking for. We don't know too much about that yet though ;)

There are 3rd party mods similar to VBCredits out there - if, when you convert to IPB you ask the conversion team to keep the points column in the member table, and then install iPoints or something similar, you should find everything as it was (check with the author of the points system you are installing that the installer won't drop the column if it already exists)
