is it possible to have this option, to automatically add tags if someone posts a link like http://autosense.bla/image.jpg It will save the pains of clicking on the icons again n again, when many images are being posted.

Some time formats in 2.3.5 are in the templates, not easy to change. I suggest in 3.0, users can change all the time format. Because in some countries, the time formats are: 12 Hour 30 Minute 2008 Year 8 Month 1 Day The italic words mean the words in other languages.

Just came to my mind.. I think it would be great that admins can have 100% control on the moderators options. For example, if I want my mods group to have the ability of changing nicknames, increase/decrease post count etc, I think the admin should have the ability to determine exactly which options each group will have.

Search Engine Friendly Urls would be great, I won't need to install any mods for that anymore. Also I would like to see pips for new sub-folder posts, like in http://www.getpaidforum.net for example.

Hello guys, these Features in IP.Board 3.0 would be great: - Search Engine-Friendly URLs ( /forums/suggestion-ipb-30-11-features/ or /forums/suggestion-ipb-30-11-features.html ) - Printer-friendly pages with small CSS! ( or / and integrate printer-friendly pages in lofi version ) - Show threadstarter in post - Download topic in OpenOffice format ( http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?...98&t=272188 ) - Ajax fast reply (like vBulletin) - Advanced lofi version ( Login / Reply - like vBulletin ) - Threaded view with ajax ( like vBulletin - http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread....p;mode=threaded ) - Advanced moderator system - bann members / restrict…

One feature that I quite like on another forum I use from time to time is the "Who quoted me feature", so please can easily locate posts where they might like to respond. This could perhaps be part of the view new posts feature?

In IPB 3.0, how difficult will it to be to set up two separate forums (i.e. about two different subject matters), but allow users to register to one and have access to the other. (So, the two IPB installations would share the same user table, and sessions, and whatever else -- but keep the posts, topics, forum structure, and everything else etc. separate). If this were possible, I'd buy another IPB license instead of clogging my current forum with disorganization. <_<

[suggestion] Dynamic <title> tags
by Guest W13- 1 reply
Google reports that on my site it found 31,000+ duplicate title tags. I got a bit confused at first, but then realized, "Oh, the IPB... " - the <title> tag has the same info no matter which page you're on inside a topic (page1 of a topic will have same title as page2, page3, page4, and so on) So, to make things more descriptive, would it not be possible to take an excerpt from the first post in that topic, and stick it right in the title tag? (At least it'd get rid of all the 'errors' that Google is reporting about my site)

Areas For Modders 1 2
by Guest TestingSomething- 30 replies
- 6.5k views
I really think IPS should consider making changes related to areas for programmers. As itr is, I have to have a license for a product to even post in the modification sectiopn of that product. So i can't even post a topic about my own modifications I submit. lol I'm not paying licensing fees to be allowed to give others support here or to be able to post topics about modifications in production. I don't know what the solution is exactly, but I do know that on IPS Beyond there was a modifications in production forum area. there should at LEAST be one of those here where I can try to judge the demand for various things and also people would have an idea on what peop…

ACP Manage Forum UI sucks
by Guest Brandon D- 16 replies
- 2.7k views
I just had to move, delete, create, edit etc a bunch of forums and was annoyed by the poor UI. A few changes would've cut the time it took by at least 1/3: 1. When I delete a moderator, don't redirect me to the forum index level, redirect me back to where I was so I don't have to drill all the way back down to where I was, even better make it AJAX so I don't move at all 2. When I click a forum name, just like if I were actually clicking it to view the forum itself, I don't want to be taken to the parent forum 3. Give me the option to move all topics in a forum (not just at the forum deletion page) 4. Give me the option to delete all topics in a forum instead of just …

Old IPS Beyond Redirects...
by Guest Wondering Soul- 6 replies
As IPS Beyond used to have its own download manager, all the files that were there got added to the resources site. I noticed earlier that if you click a link to an old IPS Beyond hosted download, you get taken to the resources site but almost 100% of the time, you are shown a 404 Not Found error. It appears to do this because the URL you get redirected to at the resources site is incorrect. For example, take this URL (saw it in a signature here): http://www.ipsbeyond.com/forums/index.php?automodule=downloads&showfile=96 That will redirect users to the following, which is incorrect: http://resources.invisionpower.com//index.php?automodule=downloads&showfi…

Favorite topics!
by Guest Amy T- 2 replies

I know you are able to subscribe to threads but I think it would be nice to be able to add threads as a favorite. Kind of like in gmail where you can add a star next to an email and it adds it to your stared emails. The reason I ask for this as it could be used to keep track of thread you found helpful or good. I know on my forum I have members who add book marks to threads they like which adds up to be a lot of bookmarks on their computer so if it was built into ipb that would be cool.

3.0 Purchase Paid Subscriptions
by Guest Rοb- 14 replies
- 2.5k views
Hello, Firstly, apologies in advance if there is a similar thread regarding this query, i have done a basic search but didn't see anything. I was made aware of IPS dropping the "Purchase Paid Subscriptions" feature (or at least not upgrading it i think) for version 3.0 because of IP.Nexus, however since that product now appears to have been put on the back burner i am interested to know the status of this feature for future versions. This feature is an integral part of my site/community, so I'd need to know if it is likely to be developed further or whether i would be best advised to look into third party billing software. Thanks :)

Mark/Flag Topic For Review
by Guest Brett B- 7 replies
- 1.4k views
It would be neat to have an option to flag topics for review (especially on large boards where you need to quickly look through all topics/topic titles but don't have time to read all of them at once) so that you would remember which ones you wanted to read/come back to later. Perhaps when you flag topics for review, a link would pop-up next to "View New Posts" that you could click to see a list of marked topics.

Number of active viewers goes way up when unidentified spiders are there. Or sometimes it even goes up when a KNOWN spider is there and if you click the detailed online list in that case it won't list many at all. I think like IPs should not be counted unless it's a member. That way if members have AOL, for example, it would still count them as unique, but it would get rid of this issue where it says 200 are viewing and then you see 190 of them are the same IP.

Restore posts from Trash Can
by Guest Gärrett- 13 replies
- 2.6k views
I was looking through my Trash Can earlier, and noticed a couple posts that got deleted unnecessarily. Now, I know it shows the topic ID in the trash post, but it's missing a key feature - restoring it to the thread. After all, tisn't the whole point of the trash can to moderate the moderators? It's kind of hard to do when 1, you can't post as a user; and 2, you have no idea where in the thread the post was. It would be nice to have a "Restore deleted topic/post" option in the moderator menu of the trash can.

Who has responded to my post/thread? - Suggestion
by Guest Graeme S.- 7 replies
- 1.6k views
I've been surfing quite a few forums recently that offer the ability to see who has quote or replied to a post you have written. One of the forums works by providing a list of occurrences where someone has clicked the reply or quote button next to a person's post. It is then displayed as follows: Another forum does something a lot simpler, but I find it just as useful. It simply lists "updated topics" where you have posted. So there is a link to "show replies" and it will list all the topics where you have posted and there are unread posts. It only lists the topics where there are unread replies. Anyway, although some may argue these two features are useless, I ho…

http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer....amp;answer=6594 I never thought I'd be using them, but I went over them and now I use them all the time. It has become a habit. Sometimes, when I'm on my Hotmail or IPB PM Inbox, I accidentally press 'c' and nothing happens lol. Also, Gmail recently made this hotkey thing that'll help IPB users select multiple PMs... click the first one, press SHIFT, click another one, and then every PM in-between will get selected. :D
