Hello, I don't want moderators and supermoderators to be able to edit/delete root admin's posts so is there a way to make rooot admin's posts uneditable? My forum is on IPB 2.3.1. Thanks in advance.

Hey! The new way of arranging the forums in ACP is great. Easy to use with drag & drop. However, is there any possibility to have the same functionality for simply drag a forum into a different cathegory, without going via the settings-page? Ex: Cat 1 - Forum 1 - Forum 2 - Forum 3 Cat 2 - Forum 4 - Forum 5 - Forum 6 I want to move forum 5 into category 1 by just dragging and dropping. Can this be possible in future versjons of IPB? Edit: Another thing that kinda annoyes me, is when I am creating new forums in ACP. If I go into Category 4, and click Add New Forum, the placement of the new forum gets to category 1. This should be fix…

Support Ticket Response Times ?

I have had a ticket open for the past five days and although numerous IPS personnel have tried to resolve the issue, it has still not been resolved. The ticket in question has not been answered for the past two days despite repeated requests for an update. I understand that my ticket is somewhat complex however, ignorance is not the best way to deal with customer support. I have even PMed the "CEO" of IPS however, no response has been received. The support ticket number is #560228 Please can someone help me as my licence is unusable without your support. Regards Barry Green

Through IPS Customer Care e-mailing, among others I've been informed that IPB3 is going to be optimized for language management, how? I mean, which language overhaul will come with IPB3 to satisfy an international forum community? Easier translation work through ACP and files? I'd like to get more information about significant language mangement improvements from IPB3 Beta users, thanks in advance... :thumbsup:

Ok, does IPB have a Member group system? I mean like, say you are a IPB fan and would like to communicate to just other IPB fans.. Could you join a group to talk to just IPB Fans if an admin sets the forum permissions up? My second question is this: How complex is this group membership? Is there any mods to achieve a facebook like group membership where members can set up their own fan clubs and run it themselves without the admin having to set up each forum with permissions for each group? If there isn't a mod, who could I suggest one made at/where could I ask for it? I cannot pay anyone for it so scratch that out.. OR Is it too late for ipb to look into …

One of my forum's moderators is testing IPB3 for me, and has asked a good question I can't answer ... How do you moderate someone's status message, i.e. the new one when you click "My Profile", and where it says (for me) "John Swallow has not set their status." I've looked all over the place in the control panel and can't find it, but am probably being stupid. :)

Skin or Language problem?

Hi, I have performed 2 clean installs of Beta 4, one on my local pc test server, and one on my hosting service. Both are the latest download from the client center. There is some missing text when viewing the IPBoard skin in every browser, with both installs. When I switch to the lofi skin, it all appears. Here's a couple images to show the problem. IPBoard skin - Text missing Lofi - Text visible The lofi skin isn't complete, but it does show that the info is available to display the texts, just not working in the IP.Board skin. Anyone have an idea how to remedy the situation?

Been inactive for a while now, I appreciate that, however... :( I have noticed that the IPS Company Forums (this site) has been running really slow for me; both at home (with a throughput speed of 6-Meg) and College (with a throughput speed of over 50-Meg) so I highly doubt it's due to the connection. I won't attempt to diagnose the issue, but I just wondered if other's are suffering from this problem or maybe it's a known problem and is being worked on? I can't check the bugs list because the slowness is that bad. There are a 10+ seconds delay of the site loading. :(

I was looking around at the site, and I have to say I'm thrilled for IPB 3, but one thing I noticed is that in IPB 3, members avatars aren't shown. I think that's a pretty big feature missing, and I also think you should have the group icons in the profile as well. It just helps show a little bit more about the member and I hope you take this into consideration :)

Standard License Extension Due to Late IPB3 Release

I'm not sure if IPS has already done this but for my own license it hasn't been done. Would it be possible to grant Standard License customer's an extension from a certain point? Due to the extension. From a financial perspective the extension of IPB3's release date could be quite a hit. Due to it's possible arrival date beyond May 13th, when my Standard License expires, I may end up paying twice in order to have the new update... $60 instead of $30. I was lead to believe by an official rep of IPS that IPB3 would be released at the end of 2008 which prompted me to buy a Standard License on November 13th, 2008. I did realize that IPB3 was at risk of being released …

I was reading around and it sounds like you want to grow your mod/skinning based community. I suggest creating a development section on your website. Apple.com is a great example. I wanted to make some iPhone apps and i easly started with there tuts, examples, videos, etc. I would love to start making some mods with IPBoard. It would be much easier for me and others if you started up a development center for the noobs and the pros. Short run you are going to have to spend time on it. Long run you are going to get more mods and helpful members in the mod support forums. More mods and a better fan/community = $$$$. Everyone wins, just think about it.

So, I'm really confused. I just paid a guy for an all out skin for 2.3.6. It looks amazing. However, I have no idea how it'll work on this new board software. I feel like these buttons aren't replacable. Are they? IS skin from 3.3 going to be able to come over here (with coding changes obviously, but like will the images be the same)? Thanks for the help.

Yeah. I plan to purchase IP.Board, after a "little" incident with vB. All I request though, is it possible to add mouseover text (to a version of IP.Board)? I mean, on the thread display page, when you hold your mouse over a title, it displays X number of characters from the thread? It seems trivial, I know. But I plan to buy either way. I was just wondering if that was possible.
