Someone explain please. I thought we would see the subscription manger in beta 2. Guess beta 3.......nope. Guess beta 4.....nope......I would like to know why it can't be implemented for testing?

They're going to release it as a community project. Probably taking some time getting it updated and ready.

Why is it strange?

By releasing it to the community, it allows for a great deal more expandability in the module than IPS would be able to accomplish (remember the budget!), if it were still an inherent function.

I applaud IPS' decision, largely because I hope to use the manager some time in the future. Some of the ideas I've seen here, for its development, are great.

If it wasn't for the subscription manager, I wouldn't even be using IPB. My main concern is if there will actually be a WORKING subscription manager during the release....or do I have to wait even longer, after the release of the board, so this feature can be added....?

I am waiting for the response of a staff member.

They said it would be included in the final release, and there are other people who also DEPEND on it [I happen to be one of those]... I would simply take them at their word and assume it's still in the works and should be seen soon.

For the record, Jason literally just finished converting the subscription manager code the other day (or most of it, some still left I think) so I'm hopeful we'll see it with beta 5.
