I very much like the email to send if a login name is altered. However would it be possible to add the display name as a field to be shown. I.e. rather than email to the login name, you address it to their display name. Thanks.

Id like that place to follow APC settings like all other places do. http://community.invisionpower.com/tracker/issue-23164-hard-coded-time-in-profile/

The skin template currently manages CSS and HTML. I'd like to see it also manage all JavaScript in the skin template, including the ability to cache the JS to files, just like CSS and HTML. I'd also like to see built in conditional template tags for specifying that the HTML, CSS, JS that is used is tied to a set of browser versions. That is, I want to be able to generate an instance of the HTML, CSS, and JS files for specific browsers. So, IPB would cache a set of files specific for each browser versions and use the version appropriate for the current users browser agent. I'm thinking there are browsers now that support most of HTML5. For those browsers, IPB woul…

Hi all, I'd like to know if you can create a new topic in e.g. http://domain.com/ipb/ every time someone performs a certain action (like submit a form) in e.g. http://domain.com/webapp/. The current IPB API can achieve that? Thanks, @andreatorre

Hi All, I rarely post feedback like this so standby..: Just upgraded to 3.1 across my whole suite of IPB products. I'm SO impressed with the efforts of the team. Smooth upgrade, no problems and the general look, feel and behaviour of it is just great. Absolutely 100% fantastic (can you tell I'm really happy with this?). After using it for a short while, the only suggestion I can make is with the social networking links near the bottom of posts. When I click them, they pass me on to the correct page, for example Twitter. However, the URL in the Twitter post is the unabbreviated one and is very long. Would there be any chance of using a service like: http://bit.ly/ …

I can't find any resources addressing this, so apologies if I'm asking a question that's already been answered. I'd like to be able to access the chat from my phone (a Blackberry Curve), but cant seem to get the settings right. I can enter chat and see who is in it, but can never read what's being said. I know some of my users access chat from their phones, so I've got to hope there's a way to do it on mine. has anyone achieved this on a Curve or similar phone? do we have a list of compatible phone models out there? this would definitely impact my choice for my next phone thanks for your time, folks

While the Report Center is a nice touch, it leaves a lot to be desired for many I suspect. I would like to see the option of forgoing the Report Center and directing reported posts to an existing forum at the discretion of the site owners.

In next update. Please give adminstrator the ability to also post custom message in the "view latest news" block (Similar to Global Message). Will be very useful. Version 3.1 improvements are awesome. Thanks a lot to the coders and support staff. Thanks.

Invision Power Services Xfire Group I have been thinking...since IPS Staff use AIM, MSN and what have you, why don't we have a nice big community for the IPS Customers? I have made an Xfire group called "Invision Power Services" (obviously) for us to basically communicate with eachother. Just a simple way of contacting customers and staff for a nice discussion! :) I mean, with all these customers, they only have the forums for PMing to contact eachother, and can be annoying to keep refreshing all the time, plus it's not exactly "instant". http://www.xfire.com/communities/invisionpower/ Here's a link for all customers. There is absolutely NO "invitation validation",…

Hi folks, In the last week or so I converted the first of several VB powered forums that I own from VB to IPB. Just a short note to say how impressed that I have been with the installation and support services form IPB on what has been a very steep learning curve for an old VB user. I have focussed for the last week on getting my first forum as near to perfect as I can and we are very nearly there. I have been particularly impressed with the very friendly, very patient and very human nature of the IPB support staff who I felt were very genuinely anxious to engage with me on a personal to solve issues and get my new forums and suite just right. The speed of resp…

I hope this would be something easy to do. I'd like to see it where deleting a member's personal messages could be merged in with deleting posts and topics. That is, instead of being in two separate menus in the ACP they exist in one single menu option. I believe it would help in deleting any spammers, etc. Basically it'd be on one screen like this as opposed to the current separate two: Delete Posts/Topics For: MEMBER_NAME Delete ALL of this member's 4 POSTS? If enabled: a topic started by this member that has no replies is deleted otherwise the topic is left. Delete ALL of this member's 0 TOPICS? If enabled: all topics started by this member will be deleted, reg…

Would it be possible to have the old feature from IPB2 back, where you could edit the sub-title from outside the thread? Currently you can only do it for the thread title. It was a very handy feature, at the moment you are required to go into the topic > edit then FULL edit

I think it would be great to change the default app in the admin cp instead of a file edit.

With 3.1 people can register both with Twitter and Facebook accounts. If you have added extra fields to show at the time of registration, then these fields appear to the new user signing in with Facebook or Twitter. Not a problem here - however there is nothing in that small box to say which fields are required and which are optional. I did log a tracker, but apparently it is working as intended hence this topic as a suggestion for a change. I have altered the wording above the boxes to make it clear as to which are optional, but a break on the page would be great. The other thing I have noticed is whilst the page displays helpful notes to say if a display name is…

Often times, when I'm up to my hind end in gators and snakes, I tend to have several things going on at once, including multiple logins to the ACP. Unfortunately, this isn't possible with 3.1 unless there's a setting someplace that I'm missing. Please, for those of us that multi-task like crazy, multiple logins to the ACP is a must.

I'm not against having a system for paid mods, but I don't think they should be mixed in randomly with the free ones and should probably be in a different category at least so those who want/don't want them don't get confused. Because at the moment, there's pretty much no way to tell a mod is paid until you click to see the mod description, and they're all just randomly mixed in with the free ones all over the place. No other forum software company does this (or any forum software manufacturer). I also think there should be a rule against encryption of free mods, there's no purpose at all to have this other than vanity, and really, it's an inconveniance which is hardl…

It would be nice if the report center could be an all encompassing report center and not only for reported topics, but also for all queued topics, moderator actions, warnings, etc. This would really go a long ways in keeping all the moderators up to date with what is happening on the forums in terms of moderation, queued topics, etc.
