Rymich13
Invision Power Services Xfire Group I have been thinking...since IPS Staff use AIM, MSN and what have you, why don't we have a nice big community for the IPS Customers? I have made an Xfire group called "Invision Power Services" (obviously) for us to basically communicate with eachother. Just a simple way of contacting customers and staff for a nice discussion! :) I mean, with all these customers, they only have the forums for PMing to contact eachother, and can be annoying to keep refreshing all the time, plus it's not exactly "instant". http://www.xfire.com/communities/invisionpower/ Here's a link for all customers. There is absolutely NO "invitation validation", just click "Join" or w/e it is and your in the group of IPS on Xfire! :D
Management Charles Posted June 1, 2010 Management Share Posted June 1, 2010 Or... and here's an idea... you could post here where, you know, everyone already is :)
Rymich13
Or... and here's an idea... you could post here where, you know, everyone already is :) Yes, there's that - but I mean for customers that want to instantly talk and discuss things instead of posting/PMing etc. ;)
Robulosity2
There's a chatroom for that
.Sephiroth.
Or how about a place where Customers can chat? Such as myself, who have a perpetual license that I pretty much cannot do anything with these days, since there's no renew option anywhere, and everywhere I go, I'm pestered to pay for support I never even freaking used!!!!! Even though the license says I can renew it whenever for $30 a year. That option seems to be missing, and based on information I got from other people, my license must be converted to one of the current ones. Why? So tell me, does IPS support everything on the resources site? If so, then I can understand. Otherwise, CHANGE IT.
Management Charles Posted June 7, 2010 Management Share Posted June 7, 2010 Your Perpetual license gives you perpetual access to download updates to the software. If your support expired a long time ago you will have to just email billing (or submit a ticket to billing in client area) to generate a renewal invoice. .Sephiroth.
You've failed to answer my other question as well, Charles. However, thanks for the quick response.
Management Charles Posted June 7, 2010 Management Share Posted June 7, 2010 Well I assumed it was rhetorical :) We don't support what's in the resources site but we support the site's existence as a license benefit.
.Sephiroth.
So if you don't support the mods and stuff posted there, why must I have active support to download stuff you don't support? It doesn't make any sense.
Management Charles Posted June 7, 2010 Management Share Posted June 7, 2010 Because it still costs money to host and download those items. Yes, you have to have an active license to enjoy access to that section and many other benefits.
Mark
Servers, power, network connections. We really wish these things were free too, but alas.
.Sephiroth.
So then that means if I do renew, and I have a problem with one of those resources, I can come directly to IPS and not be shoved away because it's a third party resource? That's what I'm understanding at this point of time.
Management Charles Posted June 7, 2010 Management Share Posted June 7, 2010 Now you're just being grumpy for no reason. You know the answer to your own question there :) It's been this way for literally years here at IPS.
