By default for reputations you use a +/- icon. On Gamedev.net we switched to a more familiar thumbs up / thumbs down icon and saw a huge surge in ratings. We've been running IP.Board for almost 90 days now. 10% of all of our reputation ratings come from the last 12 hours since we made the switch.

As a user of many types of software, I am accustomed to maintenance releases that come in between the major releases. Releases that can help fix known bugs and other issues so that paying customers are not sold a product that is loaded with known issues. Is that not something that IPS does? I've been directed to bug reports with patched files for some issues, and told that other issues are recognized as bugs but will be fixed in a later version???? I guess it just doesn't seem right to be selling something with known bugs in it. I come here and see this site and how it runs and the package I download is nothing like this, and loaded with bugs that aren't fixed. Isn't …

Please add a search feature to IPS Marketplace as I may be missing something but there doesn't appear to be any option to search IPS Marketplace only browse through the categories which makes it hard & rather a tedious task when trying to find something, particularly when you know what your looking for to the point of being useless. It's a great idea for an addition to the ACP & helping to make our lives easier & once again well done IPS but a search function for it is definitely needed before it can really be very useful.

I have been reading the blogs about 3.2.0 and I am loving what I am seeing being improved on. I love the new apps feature and I love the newway the board is going to handle alot of the new ideas that are coming out with the new ACP. I have a few questions about the front end of the board and maybe this can be answered here or in a few blog entries. New app management blog I read I posted a reply and really didn't get an answer to. Will the owner/rood admin of the board be able to move tabs on the front end (i,E. If they have IP.Content as their front page for their community Would this tab be able to be moved in front of the forum tab) and have their navigation laid out …

Maybe its there and we're missing it but I can't see it on any of our skins including the default IP skin, but it would be great if there was also the option there to move topics directly from the View New Content page in the moderator drop box that's currently displayed on it.

I'd like to suggest to expand/turn the current polls into a extension, such as Reputation, that can be used by other applications. I've been debating with myself about doing an app to make this happen, but it would not be as good as if it were native. I think apps would only benefit from this. :)

When my user submit an event on difrent months and if i set calander to aproval mod, I do not see that event until i go in to that spesific month... We need to give Admin a tool to see all the events that are waiting for aproval... May be it is there but i am not seeing it... Thanks, Media

We occasionally get a database error once in a blue moon. We run a >3Gb database and sometimes tables like ibf_core_markers can be left locked in use by mysql. It's a simple fix to just flag a repair in phpmyadmin. When IPB gets errors and puts up the database error page saying "there appears to be an error with the database" it'd be real nice if it booted a lossless automatic check/repair routine. If you ban a member in admin cp, the button changes from Ban Member to Unban Member. However, you need to click this to adjust some of the ban settings, so you are not always unbanning. Change to Edit Ban or similar. Thanks

Twitter icon has a whole row to itself above a text box when starting a topic or replying to one (A). It doesn't deserve this allocation of real estate. Suggest moving it to toolbar above (B). (Yes, it's "not like the others," but conserving real estate trumps consistency in this case.)

Starting a topic is a fundamental and, we all hope, frequent user task. But a topic poll -- how frequent is that?? And yet, a big fat Manage Topic Poll button *precedes* the text box in starting a topic, as though starting polls was more common than starting off with some text. The Manage Topic Poll button is a speedbump in the way of starting a topic. It takes up way too much prime real estate in respect to its importance to the user. Suggest it be moved *below* the text box, next to the suggested Post Options button (also see ).

Hi there, Here is a feature request which is, in my opinion, at the core of a board usability. Question : What is the goal of a forum ? Answer : To let users create topics. So the topic creation process has to offer great functionalities to organize them. I started my community 8 years ago, and I realize only now that an often used process is still manually (and very poorly) done : the topic prefixes. I can't count the pinned topics in each of my forums, where members are kindly asked to add some prefixes to their topics titles, depending on the content of their topics. This sounds silly, but I have gotten multiple emails from members who can't figure out how to post a new topic on my forum. They register intending to ask a question (it's a science forum), but can't find the button to post a new topic. Presumably these are members who have never used similar forums before and just don't know how they work. It may lower the barrier to entry significantly if there were a way to post a new thread from the forum index. For example, you could press the "Start a New Topic" button and it'd give you a list of categories to choose from for your topic to go into, then let you make the post. It explains itself better than having to pick the forum…

Hello. Not sure if this is the proper place for this, but I felt like I should leave a note. I am simply AMAZED with IPB support. No only with their knowledge, but their consistent effort to go above and beyond to meet my needs. Even when it's borderline outside the scope of support. They never tell me no. And together, we ALWAYS resolve the issues in a timely manner. Most recently I undertook the huge task of combining 2 IPB forums (on separate servers) into one new forum. First, before someone tells me I'm posting in the wrong area (which I might still be) I'm not asking for a Gallery feature. This is an IPB feature request as I understand it. See this post: I want to make sure someone on the dev side for IPB 3.2 is taking a look at the issues with Gallery integration. Hi, I have been searching the forums for this and was not sure if this is applicable for anyone else but: Is it possible to have a feature where topics are automatically bumped after a preset number of days or preset future date? We run an import brokerage and manage hundreds of projects at one time, it would be nice if topics could be preset to be bumped so we would know it is time to follow up with our customers vendors.
