Hello everybody, The moderation team of our board pointed out at what I think could improve moderation for lots of people with large boards and some super-moderators. When a profile is given a warning, the moderator has the possibility to select the option to get all future message (or for a time given) approved by a moderator. Thing is, with over 100.000 users, it is a pain to keep track of all warned members to make sure someone will read their post for approval in a timely manner. Of course the moderators can find the topics and messages awaiting for approval, but to be able to target only one user is a feature that I think would allow a better and more pedagog…

When you move a topic to another forum, you can choose to keep a link in the originating forum. A great feature would be to allow the original post to be shown with a reply from a moderator saying the reasons the topic has been moved. This could be done with a checkbox option for choosing the moderators reply. The original post would be selected automatically. Any other posts would only be shown in the topics new/moved loacation. My reason for this is when topics are moved to a location thr poster doesn't have permission to view, they sometimes post a topic asking why my topic was moved or PM a moderator. Because from what I hear, any required fields have been filled in every single time the member edits their profile, and for anyone who registered before the field was added, this turns out to be an utter pain in the [name for body part here].

Just a suggestion for future versions... the ability to select a default action for "view new content". My members are very confused when it defaults to showing new members in the last 24h, depending on which page they click this button on. I'm sure that most people click it to view new forum content by default, so a setting to adjust this would be welcome. Fow now, I've edited this in the template, but I'm sure it would be useful to others as an admin setting.

I have a video game forum, and in the 5 years I have been running a IPB forum.....I have never really used the calendar. I just had an idea for the calendar though.....What if I used it to mark anniversaries of video game events. Example The Nintendo Entertainment System was released on October 18, 1985. What if I could enter that date into the calendar, and every October 18th it would say at the bottom of my forums..... Today is the anniversary of the "Nintendo Entertainment System" (25) I could then just enter in 200-500 important dates into my calendar, and every day my members would see the anniversary of important dates in video game history.

As far as I can see, there is no easy way to return to the front page in the Client Area, without going trough a set of navigation menus. A breadcrumb navigation similar to what we have on the forums would be wonderful. I'm specifically talking about the New Purchase and the Order Complete pages. The others have the left-side menu. Merge renewal bills, or let us put them in the shopping cart for bulk payments. Right now I have two addons that are due soon, and both of these have to be paid separately, as far as I can work out. This is a bit of feedback and a bit of a question at the same time. I feel that scrolling here at http://community.invisionpower.com/ is sluggish. Am I the only one that experiences this? Is it because of 3.2? Has anyone that upgraded already experienced sluggish scrolling? Scrolling on my 3.1.x is normal (scrolling on my 3.2 beta feels sluggish as well). This computer has a decent processor with 3GB of RAM but I can't say I would be surprised if it is only me. It could be my browser as well. I am just not sure.

Okay, here is the thing: IPB 3.2 has a fundamental flaw. The idea to make more use for the avatar is a good one. Instant personalisation of all the content is possible. But you seem to deny the guests this feature. Because you have chopped the option, that guests are able to see the avatar. Guests can only see the avatar, when I enable them to see the WHOLE profile in the member group settings. But that I won't do. Guests should be able to see the avatars without being able to see the whole profile! Make this possible, soon. I don't want that guests can sniff around, but I don't want them to see the blank member picture all over the site, too. That is just plain absurd.…

This is a simply request to add this feature back to our client accounts. When IPS had the "Request Upgrade" feature in the client accounts, it was fairly easy to get a quick turnaround for an upgrade to your forums, usually within several hours. However, the new system has become troublesome and inefficient. I'm not posting a complaint but rather a request to return this feature back to our client accounts. When 3.2 was released, I had to create a support ticket and do it the normal way and ended up having to wait 14+ hours for an upgrade because I would get a request for my client account information and then I had to wait longer. Sorry if this has been suggested already, I searched but couldn't find it. View new content is much better than in 3.1 but one little annoying thing is that we click to click on each of the sidebar links (members, Gallery, Downloads, etc) to check if there's new content in them. Obviously, most of the time there is nothing new. I'd like to see an icon besides the link when there's something new so I could know at glance what sections of my board I need to look at and stop wasting time clicking on 5 links just to get 5 empty pages.

I ran a comparison between 3.2.0 and 3.2.1 and discovered that only 866 of the 3028 files actually needed to be uploaded to my board. I think it would save IPS a considerable amount of bandwidth and time if a patch file was made available for these minor version upgrades. The archived patch file I made was half the file size, and it will easily take less than half the time to upload on my server. While that may or may not affect hosted communities, it would certainly cut costs when it comes to those of us grabbing our files from the download center. Also, I created the patch file in about 5 minutes with WinMerge. :)

Fulltext search isnt working very good. Example: searched word "lähihoitaja". It gives 42 results with fulltext, 155 without it. With word "ensihoitaja", its 20/41. Searched with word "hypotermia" (fulltext off). IPB found 4 results, google search found over 10 results, some of them in topics what IPB search didnt found.

I have a quick suggestion that I believe would solve some issues and keep members from getting into a situation where they are not seeing ALL of the content they should see when clicking "View new content". The sort options on the left side all function the same way EXCEPT for the "Other" category. Those items are essentially toggles and can be clicked on and off. SO.... how about adding a checkmark box next to those options to show this? That way the user knows he can toggle it on or off? My members are clicking "Items I follow", and in some cases it defaults to that for them, and they don't understand they can toggle that off to view more content. Thoughts?

I recently had posted a post, but after i posted it, their was no option of "Edit" However when i did that with "Toggle Editing Mode On" aka bbcodes off, than i got the "Edit" button. So wonder, if its a bug for 3.2.1 ?

In many cases I come and I see the whole site unsable due to server load and it takes hell of time to figure things out. Sometimes you just can't! I really wish there is way to automatically enable performance mode in ipb when load goes above a certain ratio and disable it again when it goes below another certain ratio. This way site will always run smoothly when we are not around. I this this tweak will be the most useful addition! What do you think guys?

I've searched all over for this and found nothing. If I'm logged out and I click the small Twitter Connect icon in the top right, instead of logging me in it just takes me to the login page. If I then click the big button there, it works fine. It also works if I load the pop-up and sign in with that. Tried it here and on a 5-day demo (also, for some reason the pop-up doesn't seem to be working here, but works fine on the demo). It also seems to be making an HTTP request to twitter.com during all this, but I still don't get logged in. If i have admin approval in new registrations, user gets mail after account is approved. However, if account doesn't get approved, user gets no email. Why is that? How about, "Sorry, but your registration is rejected" or something?
