Starting to notice quite a few posts have empty paragraphs both above and below the posts, pretty sure on 3.4.7 these were automatically removed, if not something worked better with the editor. Is there any magic setting or switch that can remove these automatically as my OCD is twitching like crazy?

Hello, I have a script that outputs a special key. What I would like to do is have a member able to go to their profile and, one time only, click a button to generate a key. Although, I need it to send their username as a variable to the php script it runs as it generates the key. If anyone knows at least a way to run a php script that pulls the users username into it that would be great. I could at least make a separate page for it. Thanks!!

So, I've been with this host for awhile, not particularly fond of them but they've gotten the job done up until now. I'm trying to install 4.0 RC6 so I can use it as a Dev Environment for something else, and as the database is installing, it maxes out my Entity Processes at 15 (-.-). I've contacted my host and they've told me straight up that they're unable to help me and that I need to contact IPS Developers in order to "see why there's so many entity processes being used." Is there any way to lower this number or should I tell my host where to shove it, and move on?

Hiya, I have had members messaging me constantly over the past week that they cannot stay signed in to the board. I am running 3.4.7. Most people get kicked out immediately with Chrome, lesser so with Firefox. I don't believe it is a cookie problem. my actual site is a blog, with my forums being a subdomain (for example my site is "mysite.com/forum/" Do I have this set up right? I also have .htaccess enabled. I really want to figure out this problem...

hello, during installation of the IP board I get to the my mysql server connection but this one does not connect. the error message is this: Warning: Can not connect to MySQL server on 'forum-actusmobiles.com' (111) namely that I can connect to php myadmin and the connection is good because I have access to my mysql server. all my IDs are good. What do you do? sorry for the translation, I am French, and I use google translation.

When ever I upgrade every so often i would get the message, something like: with a big continue button. In the past hitting continue would do just that go on to the next step. In RC6 it would NOT continue so i copied that text and dropped it in to the SQL tab of phpMyAdmin and to 1 second to complete then the continue button worked. So hitting this Continue button DOES NOT constitute the manual run of the query; and we are suppose to log in to phpMyAdmin and run the query from there!? If so perhaps this is why post installs there are flaky bits because the needed queriers indeed were never ran on the tables. - Please revise this screen to outline the proper procedures …

I work away from home a lot and stay in motels. When I visit here either first time from the motel or when I get back home from my trip my password is often rejected. I enter the correct password and it's still rejected. The only solution is to do a lost password recovery. I do this and just enter in my previous password. Only happening on this site running version 4. My own site and other sites running 3.4.7 I don't have this problem. Anyone else having the same problem? Invision - comments?

Is there any dev docs, like how to create a hook, an example. I am super none dev and need a hook that after registration sends off a few bits of the info to another script. I am trying to find how to build a hook but the docs are no where to be found, well at least I have not found them. Any ideas?

Did an update from RC5 to RC5a and for me, the style sheets look broken pretty much everywhere. It feels like one of those problems where a missing ; has caused chaos, but it means nobody can post (unless CSS disabled), reputation plugin on the front page shows all 4 tabs at once, admin CP doesn't work properly etc. Anyone else suffering this or just me?

Hi The forum is running fine but i cannot access my admincp anymore What happened : I defined in the admincp a different name for the /admin/ folder lets say admin2 and followed the instructions (create constants.php etc) then i could access to the admincp with the url /admin2/, no problem After that i just added one line in the htaccess : redirect match to redirect old topics (converted forum) to /forum/ (ipb4) then when i wanted to access the admincp, i had a 301 to /forum/ i removed the line added in the htaccess but no change i removed constants.php Now when i try to reach /admin2/ there is a 301 leading to : /forum/admin/?adsess=am734qnnq6b704p8227u3acpn3&app=cor…

Hello, I just noticed in my test IPS4 RC5 site, that all my custom profile fields are blank, and named as "core_pfield_x" where x is a particular number. The fields don't have any of their original settings from my 3.4.7 DB. Wondering if this is intended, and I have to start over, or if such behavior is unexpected.

An admin on our site somehow accidentely deleted a couple of ours mods' accounts through the ACP, I'm just trying to fix their join dates on their new accounts (already assigned the posts to the new accounts etc.) I know how to change the join date, but not what I need to change it to. This is one of our member's join dates What would I need to type in to make the join date Feb. 10? I can't seem to make a connection between those numbers and the actual join date. If anyone could help that'd be great.

What's the best way to upgrade my forum and only keep members? Delete all photos, files and whatsoever and start clean on 4.0 All forums will also have to be created again, how would I do this? I'm going to use my old memberbase on a new forum.
