With the latest Invision update to 4.7.2.1, I'm seeing this message:

    Could contain: Text

Are there plans to address this? Should I proceed with this update?

If you're using v1.2.3 you won't have any issues with upgrading. --The only issue may be if you use PHP 8 and v1.2.2 or earlier (but that would already be an issue, it isn't specific to 4.7)

Hey @stoo2000 - will the new update be ready by November and will it be PHP 8 compliant?

    Yes, there will be!

If you use v1.2.3 you won't have any PHP 8 compatibility issues anyway.

Your Invision Community 4 is ready

The upgrade process is now complete and your Invision Community is now ready!

We are currently in the process of migrating our platform from PHP7 to PHP8 in order to provide you with the greatest level of performance and security. We've identified and disabled one or more Applications or Plugins currently installed on your site which contain PHP8 incompatible code. To re-enable, you will have to upgrade to a PHP8 compatible version. Refer to the AdminCP Support page for more info.

The following third party applications were disabled:

    • bouncer

The update for this has just gone out!

Any news on when this update will be available? Just paid $50 to renew, to immediately discover it won't work with 4.7.

The current version will still be functional, the new version isn't quite ready yet unfortunately. I have sent you a PM about your renewal.

    Thanks

    Stuart

I installed and setup Amazon SES and ditched SendGrid including removing the integration. However, I now have this warning message that I can't seem to get rid of:

"Mail Bouncer had an issue connecting to your SendGrid API. Please make sure that your SendGrid API key is correct and grants full permission to 'Mail Settings > Event Notification' and 'Suppressions > Suppressions'."

If your SendGrid API key is still populated in the SendGrid integration it'll still try to use it and check the web hook is configured properly - For example, you might still want to process bounces in response to a newsletter you've sent via a different platform without sending your Invision Community email via the same method.

If you temporarily enable the integration and then remove the API key, it'll stop trying to use SendGrid.

I will add a decay for the error messages to the next release so they'll eventually vanish.

I am getting an error when trying to go to Settings for the Feedback.  The reason i was trying the setting was because one of my members claims that he lost all his feedback. The error i am getting is listed bellow.

That looks like you have a Node (may be a forum) that is assigned to a Club that no longer exists. I suspect you may see the same kind of error appear if you open the form on the front end to move a topic to another forum?

Any expected date of release, I'm highly interested.

I'm a bit delayed with it due to some other things that are going on at the moment. Looking at your other topic, this SSO isn't what you're looking for.

Have a look at 'option B' in the document @Randy Calvert linked you to -

    What a pity ;(
How much did the plug cost?

I know I can buy a new disk or server space cheaply, but heavier images aren't a good thing.

I would prefer to optimize it so that the website loads faster.

    PS

@stoo2000 take a look at the links, pages are down 😞

    [4.5/4.6] Mail Bouncer v3.3.4 - Download Now
[4.5/4.6] Trader Feedback System v2.3.4 - Download Now

It was $30 at the time. Thanks for letting me know about those links, I have updated them.

Wouldn’t be much of a problem to download the files, mass-process them locally and then upload them again. There are lots of (even free) apps for bulk image optimization. I recently used ImageOptim for Mac. As simple as dragging the image folder on the app.

Depending on your community set up, you would have to consider CDNs too. The uploaded image may already be in an edge cache with a long TTL whereby updating the source won't actually make any difference.

    Sorry, I meant:
    root/applications/core/interface/ckeditor/ckeditor/plugins/icons_hidpi.png

The full link, with queries being
    root/applications/core/interface/ckeditor/ckeditor/plugins/icons_hidpi.png?t=M12E

Not sure if the variable t indicates a time, or a template, or something cached, or stored elsewhere that isn't the actual file, or what.

That's a cachebust that changes each time CKEditor is built (with each Invision Community release). It makes your web browser load the image from the server again instead of using a local cache.

You shouldn't however be changing any core files, whether they're JS or PHP. The right way to do this would be to make your own CKEditor theme/skin (it could be based on one of the ones shipped) but then have your customised image within that skin so it doesn't get overwritten every time you update.

If you download it again from the market place you'll get the pdf - 2019 its was version 1.2.2 changed to 1.2.3 so hasn't been updated for near 3 years

And is the plugin you have outdated if its 3 years old ? hence download and check etc

I cant see anything other than compatible with 4.4 so you may want to check it works on your version of IPS (presume 4.6.x ?)

It's still working and fully supported with the latest version of Invision Community. It jsut doesn't yet abide by the data storage sections of the Marketplace Guidelines so I haven't been able to update the compatibility version yet. That's where things get a bit tricky because there's a fair amount of data that needs to be moved during an upgrade without affecting the SSO functionality. An updated version is progressing well though (essentially a complete rewrite) and I should start beta testing it soon.

Justin has been in touch with me and I haven't yet got a complete picture of what the issue is, but hopefully I should be able to get access soon and look further into it.

The only WordPress SSO application in Marketplace that works; however it has not been updated to 4.6:

    @stoo2000

    Thanks for the mention 🙂

The 4.6 version is a complete rewrite, so it's taking a little longer than a typical update would and needs extensive testing before it's ready for release.

I have replied to @Oyvind Dahl , the issue does initially look like a server issue, but I'm happy to look further.

  11. The updated version is now available, thanks for your patience 🙂

It locks the core_mail_error_logs table in an infinite loop.

That is not correct. As noted in our previous conversation about it, this was because your emails were failing to send through SES and a query Invision Community was running to update a flag on failed emails was taking a long time (due to the large number of failed emails).

    How to remove it.

Warnings are automatically removed after a few days if the bounces stop

What's the ETA on this and can the current version be used on 4.6.4 without issue?

Should be any time now, just waiting for it to be approved.

There are not any changes specifically for 4.6, so you should be fine to use the current version if you already have it installed.
