Absolutely a necessity to support multiple localhost development environments and to support the download of application/plugins directly from the IPS marketplace as existed in 4.4 and earlier. The inability to download files directly from the marketplace limits severely limits those that have installations that are not accessible from the outside internet, whether that be an internal corporate install or various development / virtualized environments.
It also prevents administrators and security folks from being able to audit applications and plugins prior to installation in any environment. At present, one must install an application/plugin prior to being able to review. In the past, we've purchased plugins/applications that upon inspection of the downloaded file, we found that there were breaking changes that did not follow IPS development guidelines and that would have resulted in a degradation of service in our production environment. Without inspecting those files in advance, we would have not been able to identify these issues.

As recommended, I'm creating this topic to reinstate the option to download files manually from the Marketplace.
It's bad enough you don't allow the download of apps we purchased when our licence has expired. But, to completely change the way file downloads are handle is a little much.

Please don't get me wrong, I love the idea that we can now do it all with ACP, but you shouldn't disable/change the way that a lot of us download files for localhost setups to test our sites before going live.

Please, please, please allow the option to download files manually like we've done for so many years!

Correct, it has happened to me here on IPS...before purchasing an addon I asked if the addon can do x, developer says yes, purchased addon and found it doesn't, asked developer for refund and developer says he can't give refunds.
I have been bitten by so many developers over many many years on vBulletin, on IPS and on Xenforo...it's all the same. BUT, the biggest point I was making here is that I prefer to test addons on my own PC before testing them online. There is so much involved in testing them that I can't be doing it online...to begin with I need to take a current snapshot of my site every time and doing it online with the way my hosting is, is an extreme pain in the but compared to just downloading a copy, which also serves as a local offsite backup, and setting it up in my local xampp environment. There I can test everything without impacting my site and especially my hosting setup. By not being able to do this increases the cost of ownership of IPS dramatically for me especially in time and risk...why do you think my main site is still using Xenforo, because my main site deserves my attention the most and XF allows me to do things so much easier, quicker and better. Already the decision of comparing Xenforo vs IPS is an extremely hard decision to make, IPS are now making the decision much easier and that is not to IPS's favour in my own opinion and solution needs. The thing is, I will always speak up...but what about all those that don't and thus IPS never hear about their wrong decisions. Develop to what your customers tell you and you will always only have those customers, develop to what your non customers also want, and you may increase your customer base two-fold. In other words, If I didn't say something and just said oh stuff it and drop IPS, then you would never know how you could have had another customer...and I have 2 licenses (I have 3 XF licenses) so how many more licenses has IPS not sold??? Cost of ownership (time and inconvenience) has dramatically increased for me with IPS but at least I will say something about it...will you at least listen???

I presume like many many others, I have a test/development copy installed on my local PC using xampp. Here I do all my testing and development of any changes to suit my live site first. I have this development/test environment for unit, system etc testing, I have a pre-production test environment on my live dedicated server for integration etc testing and then I have my live production environment. Nothing, I mean NO ADDONS, NO TEMPLATE CHANGES etc gets to a pre-prod environment until it is completely tested on my local PC first...this is the way I am sure even IPS do it. So why in hell can't I download and test addons etc in my development/test environment on my local PC...why has IPS stopped this with v4.5 especially when everyone is developing and testing v4.5:

It seems like as IPS progresses further it becomes even more frustrating to use...it seems along with other licensing things IPS is trying their hardest to drive people away from IPS and straight over to Xenforo who make it easy to create what you need and manage your installs.

All good now @Adriano Faria and thanks...i have added a "How To" text at the top and removed the B&N link code in the core file. This means that if the 13 digit code is used, the "Buy Now" B&N link is not shown:

Actually, I would expect quite the opposite. Just as with the movie industry who imposed non-skippable scenes on retail DVDs, or the gaming industry whose certain games impose constant Internet-based license validation for single-player mode under the guise of an "enhanced experience," the nulled/cracked/ripped version provides the best experience. It's only the paying, honest customers who get hurt and punished by these types of imposed restrictions.

Interesting seeing that XF has had one for over 8 years with over 5,000 mods, addons etc from developers for either sale or for free:

It stops me and probably many others from doing any pre-work
In fact their whole licensing arrangements stink...I have 2 licenses and only use 1 live install. I wanted to check to see if I could migrate a site from XF to IPS easily by installing a test version of IPS in a sub folder of the XF site but it didn't migrate well but it ties that test install to that domain and trying to get them to remove it is darn near impossible to the point I was near threatening legal action to overcome their arrogance. This just drives people away from using IPS in my opinion...you can see my extreme frustration with them 😡

Thanks Adriano, I was able to download a 4.4 version for Movies but NOT for Books:

Can only download from version 1.1.0 which seems to be only for IPS v4.5

Thanks @Adriano Faria have been able to download and install the version for 4.4.
WOW, what an addon, you have created an incredible piece of work...it is brilliant and well worth every cent.
I need to come up with some other name for it though as yes it is Movies but also television shows but the app refers to everything as a Movie, and the breadcrumb shows movies - movies when you have categories of Movies and television Shows...can't think of a more appropriate name though.
    Brilliant job, thank you!

Thanks @Adriano Faria however I thought I would just leave my site as it is now and when 4.5 comes out go all out and add all these great addons, including your Movie addon at the same time to show off to the users how great the upgrade from 4.4 to 4.5 is...no idea how much longer 4.5 is going to be though

It can be done, either from the sql or best to use plugin like this as example (I used it in past when it was made for 3.4.x)

also at the marketplace many plugin to change like join date .. etc.

That's going to be a tough one, to pick and choose which posts go on which account. That's not going to be doable without a ton of effort really, items are stored in many places, you have notifications, posts, topics, followers etc all to think about and likely more when performing such a task.

Can someone PLEASE help me with this as the same question has been asked by others here and there is no reply from the developer of anyone else.
I don't like the way the menu system works with this addon as it goes against every other addon and especially IPS itself. There are sub menu options of:
    My Adverts
    My Renewals
    My Offers
    My Wishlist
and these are placed in the user account menu and not as sub menu items and if you disable them in the app options then the user has no way of accessing them. If you enable them in the mobile menu through the app options then you get Classifieds as a menu item item twice.
If you want the sub menu options within the main IPS menu like every other addon and what IPS does itself then you have a problem creating the links because:
    1. My Adverts contains the user ID to their profile
    2. The other options contain csrfKey in their links
What I need is the links that can be used for the above in the IPS menu system so I can have:

So I don't get things like:

PLEASE can someone help me with this...the developer or anyone???
