This is actually pretty good high-level advice. I think I could do a better job explaining why customers should join our forum instead of just saying "here is a link to the forum". A steady drip of technical articles is also a good idea.

Don't worry, Invision Community is in very capable hands. While I co-founded the company 20 years ago, we've come a long way since then. Along the way, we've hired some extremely smart developers who do the bulk of coding now. I still work on features and help direct the product, but I spend less time in a code editor these days, and that's a great thing.

Yes, I agree with the author that community is really can be a genuine shortcut to build anything, career, group and progressive.

I wouldn't say it's nonsense. This blog entry seems more like philosophical ramblings than product marketing to me. One could write a blog entry such as this one without ever being involved in software development.

This article is great for IPS' SEO. It's also super insightful. 
It's possible to write great content and also focus on dev simultaneously. As they say, come for the content, stay for the community.
