Maybe they do, but they don't care. There are hundreds of community posts screaming for improvements but they couldn't care less. You're better off preparing for your funeral than waiting for a patch that adresses long standing issues. They simply don't have a big enough team to work on whatever they want + plus community requests.
5.x may address some issues, but you're better off not betting on it. Never take their word, there's still a ~3 years waiting list of other promises.
But what you can expect is another new re-design as usual. Because new looks and marketing sells best. Let's just cross our fingers that at least some of the underlying ancient code gets updated a long the way.

One user can create one topic in different sections (cross-posting).
I used to make a module for 3. x, which compares the new user's message with the previous ones (the algorithm of fuzzy duplicates) and this 100% protected against cross-posting.
Why hasn't IPB made this option yet?

The CSS style of links in messages matches the style of forum names and topics on the main page - this is very bad. Please separate these two styles!

Not very convenient. In each forum, select "Move/delete posts" from the menu. There, in the filter, select the appropriate settings. In 4.4, there were sometimes glitches, so it's better to first move the topics to a temporary section, check, and then delete them from there.
P.S.: I CRON use a simple php script to search for topics with 0 messages once a month and change them to a hidden section "for deletion". 👨‍🍳

Wow, what a mess.  Glad I saw this.  Is there a popup I can create if the user is detected using IE to suggest their viewing experience will be horrible and they should use a different browser?  On one of my site, they people are brilliant laboratories, but many struggle with computers.  Don't want them getting frustrated and leaving.

1. The right panel in the topic can be shown when there are more than N messages in the topic. Why can't it be disabled at all?

2. Why can I make my own button for the editor, but I can't delete it? Only restore the original values for the entire editor is available.
I think this needs to be fixed.

A sharp increase from 30 to 120-127 after the 4.4.10 update in 4.5. and holds almost 128. The hosting limit is 128 MB. I can temporarily increase the limit to 256 MB and see what happens. Need?
P.S.: Forum attendance is small - 350-400 hosts / day.

Version 4.5 overloads Redis. In 4.4.10, 30 MB/min was used, and now 120 MB/min is used. Is this how it should be?

I will put on a small project, but on a large one I will wait a little - I am sure there will be a lot of fix bugs soon :)

I agree with this, it is more convenient, but if you move such an important option, you could make a warning (link) in the login form. 🧒

+1 for this feature request. We need this in IPS.

It is still not possible to ban in a separate topic and a separate forum. It's time to do it :)

We used to set this header and it was removed sometime around 4.2.0. We have an internal suggestion/discussion regarding adding it back.
