My suggestion would be to auto-fill the email address with something like the site’s “Incoming email address” so it doesn’t have to be typed in again over and over again. 

Oh yeah I was testing emails just like that sending to the admin group only before I send to everybody else 🙂
This should become a core feature without a doubt.

I'm interested in the idea, I may release a plugin for it in MP soon.

It's mainly developed for topic posts. 
I may widen the scope to cover more content items later.

I think it'd be cool to have a "test" send button when sending bulk emails. I test my emails by creating a unique group, then creating a new member using one of my email addresses, then sending it to that group. 
Would be awesome if there was a "send test" button that sent your email to an email address you specify instead.
Hope that makes sense. Just a thought 🙂

Just tested the plugin with version 4.4.4 and issues detected.
According to the change log, the hook area not touched in this version.
I've to check if they support oEmbed, if not I'l try to find another work around.

My community uses messages quite a bit, and sometimes I want to read a message right away but reply later on.
It would great if I could mark a message as unread in this scenario so I remember to get back to it after.

You could also use unique urls, that's what I was using all the time. The issue is that you can't use the same url for both tables. ( I guess that's probably even the better solution, but the other should also work)

You can see it’s missing the paginationKey in your template. Compare with what I just posted. Missing because it’s not usual to use 2 tables in same page. 
I had to use my own templates and add what was missing. Working fine now. 

Does your table template has the params? I had this issue yesterday. 
It was:

When should be:
