Ocean West got a reaction from Ravion in oAuth Setup...
I understand the concept of oAuth for signups but in current offerings it seems that I would need to be the one in control of all the keys and setup of such Identity Provider.
Since I host forums for several affiliates as first line of tech support for their services most of their employees monitor the forms and provide assistance. Whenever they have a change in staff I have to add them to their group.
I was wondering if there was a way i could allow the lead person at that company a way to Setup their oAuth for managing their staff and all users who sign up that way are already granted the right permissions.
I am on great terms with my affiliates and could possibly reach out and we could probably get the credentials setup but it would be nice if once I granted a user to manage their users it would be on them to add their oAuth info. Perhaps stored in a hash in the db so I it would be safe.
Curious if this is something others have done or considered.

May need to add that to the internal tags for search.

There isnt something in which would allow you to change permissions like that at present unfortunately. You would need custom development for this

Same issue here - had to do this the other day because the updater didn't work server to server
And nothing on the server was changed in the last dozen updates.

Ocean West got a reaction from Daniel F in Webhooks First Looks
I use Mandrill / And SparkPost and when they send web hook for read/clicks etc the send an array
{ "mandrill_events" : [ ] } This could be one object or many objects based on the cash they have in x minutes your receiver would iterate thru the array to handle each action. https://mailchimp.com/developer/transactional/docs/webhooks/
(yes it is easier to handle one at a time instead of bulk actions)
    -
There are no permissions applied to the webhook so everything is visible including email / ip / personal information;  most of the data is entirely not necessary in the payload when sending off to a third party service. In addition to being a glaring breach of privacy policy and terms of services, GDPR. I my current use case I am sending it to myself but if ever wanted to employ some third party service this would be a non-starter.
    -
While this is being actively developed sending proper payload is critical sending as JSON would be really helpful I can't move forward with my project because the payload I receive is escaped and become invalid JSON.

It would be nice to see some more configurations to selected the web hook perhaps being able to have a web hook log to see the data being sent and if you can visualize the payload with a JSON editor that would allow you to disable keys arrays that don't need to be sent to a given web hook.

It would be most helpful if the word expansion feature was something that a select group could be given (mods) where they highlight a word in a post and Define the definition or the link to another resource. From that point forward such words will have expansion.
You only think of this as you reading and if a popular term comes up over and over and people ask for a meaning it's tedious to do this ACP task.
I consider doing something with a term dictionary via the editor but that is still an active action a user must take where as expansion is passive, plus that too is a separate data island to circumnavigate.
While you're at it it would be nice to have an Endpoint for the API.

Ocean West got a reaction from TAMAN in Theme compare and apply styles.
It would be nice when you have a custom theme by third party the "revert" button only reverts to the designer's default NOT the IPS default. When editing a theme settings it would be nice to have a side-by-side comparison values in another themes setting. A button to copy the setting or style form another theme while editing a current theme.

Not unless you somehow can provide the content height with the content.
Basically what you do is add a hole in your site and place some content behind that hole. The size of the hole will be whatever you set on your site. Whatever happens on the other side of that hole is out of your control.
If you want, you can try to use JavaScript to manipulate the iframe. My experience with it is not so great, but there are some solutions that might work for you.
This might be a starting point:

Just like Have I Been Pwned integration with 1Password Blog Post to keep an eye on your security threat level.
It would be nice if there was some kind of way our installations could over time work back thru our member roster and once a hash as been made interrogate a list (IPS or other third party repositories) of known spammers that include metrics such as email / IP address to thwart unwanted registrations.
Many of our sites span decades and have migrated/converted from other solutions and have no doubt many dormant and un-detected known spammers. If one is discovered and if there is a threshold of metrics (# of posts, length of registration, last log in, etc) then quarantine these and slate them for banning)

I am doing some automated posts to a forum via the API and  the body is going to be an iframe is there a way to have the height of the iframe adjust automatically to the source?

spammerx.mov sorry for the low quality of this but I had installed Fullstory and matched up a segment with a known spammer and was able to watch the signup process it is very much an operation some cut and paste. the video started on another similar account that that IP just created.

Not much if your site has an international audience. They are humans who have the sad job of creating these accounts manually.
The obvious solution would be to not give them anything to fill in after registration (Website, About me links …). But that’s something IPS needs to implement. Discourse solved that through its Trust Level System. Invision Community needs this as well. A new Discourse user cannot:
A huge array of clever spam prevention measures which are slowly and automatically lifted over time when a user proves itself to be an actual member, not a spammer.
