Well, obviously this is not the expected behavior. I tested this on 4.5 one month ago or earlier and it was working fine.

I’ll re test it during the weekend.

@SJ77, is this the bug in core you mentioned last week on a private message?

It was something related to status updates.

This is for the last version made available on 4.4.10. We will be updating to 4.5 soon. Edit: thanks for looking into it!

  2. Hiya Adriano! We have several bug reports related to the app from our users:

    1. It looks like changing your notifications settings on someone may send them another follow notification.

    2. I'd like to add that I'm getting notifications for forum posts despite having unchecked that for everyone I'm following.

    3. It seems without status replies selected I still get notifications whenever someone I follow with status updates selected replies to a status update, image, or peice of media. I definitely didn't expect this.

There's a few more reports on this, but basically it seems as if its not quite working right?

  3. There's only 2 things I can think of.

Either a. Youre working outside of the WAMP directories. Or 2, apache config is off.

Check your httpd.conf and make sure it has:

    AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

Edit: further, make sure mod_php is enabled.

  4. Removing the .htaccess if it has rewrites will cause a 404 on /login, because the rewrites would rewrite the index.php?/login to just /login (its a friendly url setting). It must be disabled in the ACP, which will generate a new htaccess file. As for why it would download the index.php file instead of opening it for display, that I am unsure of.

  5. It would be very useful if we could add an age (in years) to use the Promote feature. This is handy as it would help sites that have age-restricted areas. Right now we are using Kevin's Rules application to handle this, but a built in option would be much better.

The current ignore feature already does two out of the three things you listed though and has done for a long time:

Ignore posts and mentions: This is all or some of a users content.
Ignore Messages and Mentions: This is "Block a user from contacting you (Blocking messages and mentions)

I agree that the system needs to be overhauled a least somewhat, or improved in someway. But I can't really put my finger on it.

Except it doesn't. Posts is only for forums. It does not block any other Community application, such as Blogs, Pages, Calendar, etc. Having the option to block/ignore whole and outright an entire account is crucial. If we aren't going to see this in 4.5, I'll be looking for a 3rd party solution.
