  1. To whom it may concern,

The notifications for Gallery are kind of all over the place. When a user submits an image, and depending on where that image actually is, Notifications can be either confusing, or worse, useless. For instance:

"User has submitted new images to an Album"

This one's alright. It takes you straight to that album to see the update(s). It won't tell you which ones are new, so you're left to figure that out yourself.

"User has submitted new images to a Category"

Well screw me then. I get dumped into a category, which displays both Albums and Images. This doesn't help any. At all. I recommend this be changed to take the user being notified to the user who submitted the content's "See All Activity > Gallery" page. Or at least link it directly to the image or images uploaded. Right now this notification is basically useless in its current form.

"User has submitted new images to a Club"

See #1. It's alright, it takes you to the club's Gallery category where the images were posted.

We get complaints on these all the time. Gallery seems like a tacked on feature that hasn't really been idealized, and nor is it in a fantastic spot. There needs to be some work done on this module, which I've expressed before. But if anything absolutely needs a change, this is one of them.

  2. See, and here I thought it would use the description. The issue is not so much that the caption is a good use of the alt text, but would be good if it could be edited elsewhere. We've got a few members who have asked about this as they are visually impaired, and the Captions don't usually have much detail in regards to the content.

Thank you! One last question I hope. We've got a 2 column layout on our front page plus a sidebar. On screens approaching the media width to convert to tablet, we're seeing:

    image.png.96656fc69598c08c20958b55e535cf07.png

On our "blogs" entries (We're using the Blogs app for Stories/Literature). Any ideas on what a fix would be? As far as I can tell, it's related to .ipsColumns width:100% property. Removing the property fixes it, but then when on a larger screen or in tablet mode, it doesn't take up the available space.

  4. So the activity feed is great, it allows users to select the content they're interested in and scroll through without issue. However, there's still a few suggestions to be made with the feed:

The user has no way to interact with content from the feed other than clicking on it or opening it in a new tab. To this end, I would like to see the ability to interact with content directly on the feed page, such as adding reactions, comments, etc. In this manner, activity feeds become a place where a user can browse and interact with the content they're looking for.

NGL, I get people asking me daily if there's a "block" feature. I would love to implement this somehow. If a user wants another user to not be able to downvote them / stop seeing their posts / threads / profile at all, they block them and voila. 🙏

This 1000x this. And it has to work for All content. Not just forum content.

  6. Bumping this again, as it does need the attention. Ignore is fine and all when you're just using the Forums application, but it's extremely lackluster when using the full suite of IPS applications.

Just tested and it's working fine, @AlexWright:

PS: the video is a bit longer (5:53 minutes because I downloaded the plugin, installed it,, configured, etc.); if you want to straight to the point, go to 2:15 minutes.

I selected only Blog Entries and created a topic, status updates, status update reply and finally, a blog entry; And as expected, I received only the notification for the blog entry.

Disable all your other apps/plugins for a moment that has something to do with notifications and test it alone.

I was told also that having Gallery Images on also was giving image replies. Is that normal as well?
