Please check my topic Post #1 as all info are there...

If you are checking just Cloudflare then yes the Cloudflare when is active it will check the requests by the users and will cache your static files like images.

Then it will push the images on there huge network around the world and when another user will request an image that is already on Cloudflare he will take it super fast from the closet to him database and not from your server....

Makes sense - thank you for clarifying!

I'm staying with free tier right now until I can verify the ongoing pricing of Wasabi + Cloudflare for a month.

I'm definitely considering the Cloudflare business plan though with their additional features.

I'm on CloudFlare Free now - I don't see anywhere in IPS to change my CDN info as to where the files should be served from, and do you have to load up the files to CloudFlare for it to work?

Specifically I am talking about the CSS/JS includes, not media files like in Downloads

One of the biggest reasons for switching from AWS S3 to Wasabi is that you can use Cloudflare.

Even if you don't have a need for third party storage like Amazon S3 or an S3 compatible storage, you should be investigating Cloudflare anyways with your server admin.

Are you using the Free tier of CloudFlare, or are you on one of their paid plans? I guess they wouldn't consider a website that brings in money to support itself as a "personal" website...

    What's new in 1.0.7

    • added advanced settings to allow some control over the SoundCloud player displayed on new embeds.

Does this allow you to choose which version of the SoundCloud player to use (or allow the user at the time of posting which one to use)? I would prefer having the smaller more compact player than the huge one that is by default used by IPS.

For push notifications on iPhone, you need an app downloadable from the App Store. There's no way to push notifications to iPhones in any other way.

    There you have it, folks.

Most users are not likely to download a separate app just to enable push notifications for one forum.

Increase the seconds, remove from guests, etc. This plugin does nothing more than update the list via ajax call to list X last topics sorted by replies, using IPS framework built-in methods (getItemsWithPermission). Nothing bizarre or out of IPS pattern is there.

Test it for a day or two and let me know via PM if you want to be refunded.

Okay - I will give it a try (I had it on the default 30 seconds BTW) and let you know. Thank you!

  7. @Adriano Faria - I purchased this yesterday as I just upgraded my forum to 4.4.3 from 3.4.9 and we had an old version of this addon and my users really liked it.

After enabling the addon though, I noticed my board was much more sluggish, whereas it has been quite speedy since upgrading to 4.4.3.

This morning I awoke to CPU alerts (I am on a VPS), site up/down notices, etc. and could barely get into the ACP to disable your addon.

I should mention that it is the only addon installed besides "Who Was Online" addon found here:

Once I did disable your addon though, my board is back to normal, and is running fine.

I did see via Chrome's Console that there were a lot of timeouts, etc. when the addon was enabled.

What are my options at this point? I really like the addon, but if it's not an issue that can be resolved, I would appreciate you considering a refund.

Thanks for your efforts and let me know (either here or via PM) what can be done.

I support this idea. Also, on mobile, it would be nice to increase the default font-size for pages. This would help a bunch for those with less than 20/20 vision, myself included. I hate having to zoom the page to read text comfortably since the entire width of the page no longer shows in the viewport (leading to a bunch of swiping left and right). Perhaps a Switch to Dark mode and an increase default font-size could be added to the hamburger menu to quickly control these theme settings by the user.

The new thing these days is Responsive Font Sizes (the font size adjusts to the kind of display/viewport you are on) - frameworks like Bootstrap are starting to incorporate them.

Also, on your mobile device, you should be able to increase the font size globally (and I would think the browser/website would honor that as well?)...

I disagree. I fully support have a native dark theme from IPS and I don't think theme devs would have to cater to creating a dark mode for there themes. If you don't want to use the IPS light or dark theme then buy a theme and upload it. I use custom themes, thank goodness @TAMAN more or less makes a light and dark version of hiis Gradient theme. Would I still use it if IPS made a native dark theme? I would at this point because its a great theme and he supports it well, but to be honest I wouldn't have went to it if IPS offered dark out of the box and if the time comes it's no longer supported I will be quite vocal for an IPS dark theme.

What I meant is if IPS offered a Dark Mode via an application switch, not a theme, any theme (including IPS own theme) would need to support it otherwise at best, nothing happens when the switch is toggled, and at worst the theme breaks or is rendered unreadable because of white text on a white background, etc.

I suppose a Dark Mode would really just be a theme switch anyway, but there would still need to be the requisite CSS to support it.

  10. I think the fact that IPS is themable negates the need for a "dark mode" which is popular with apps today. Perhaps if IPS provided a dark version of the default theme...

If an application-level dark mode was implemented, then theme creators would have to support it with dark mode CSS for their themes - which raises the question - would an already dark theme go reverse in dark mode (e.g., light mode)? 😀

I've added this to my site (supports Android plus every major desktop browser)   It's been a huge engagement tool for us.

The only reason I don't offer it in the market is I'd have to charge as much as an IPS license to justify the cost of maintaining and supporting it.

There are some larger forums (businesses in their own right) that probably wouldn't have an issue paying $$$ for a feature that important these days.

No iOS support though based on what you mention?

Even better, why not sell it to IPS?

Font awesome is not the best solution. Why - because it provides a delay in loading site ... And the more new things create the more you will be delayed loading site.
I personally got tired of watching empty squares at the loading site. Perhaps it is good to look for other solutions.

For example - the three icons that load in mobile version navigation, I replaced with data images. Loading instantly ...

Yeah, I am seeing where data images are the preferred method (although that does add to page weight (KB)) for faster loading.

  13. Does it have a DMCA takedown button for the inevitable requests people will get when their users start uploading illegal content? 😆

I know I'm being facetious with that statement, but really - there should be a way for people to report inappropriate content/copyright issues to the site owner or Mods and remove the content until reviewed.

You right. Globally IPS doesn't need to include big monstrous FA5 (or any else). But with last Rikki answer, I hope they'll create some build tool for an ability to include custom font build with icons which are actually needed. In my humble opinion, this way will be an amazing solution, which may be named as a really good new improvement. Let's wait and see

Why exactly? That would basically require an in-house designer to recreate what is already available through a freely licensed source (FontAwesome). What benefit would be gained?

As @Upgradeovec mentioned, libraries like FA are (relatively) massive and you're probably using 1-5% of FA's library for IPS. If you created an icon set with just the icons needed for IPS and nothing more, it would be drastically smaller.

And you wouldn't need an in-house designer; just contract with a designer on an as-needed basis to create the initial icons, and reach out as needed when more are required or a visual refresh is in order.

Hopefully FontAwesome will have as @Upgradeovec suggested a "custom build" so only the icons needed would be included to reduce the overall footprint of FA, then it could be configured to exactly each person's needs.
